Assorted Balloon Molly restocked!!

Balloon mollies are easy-going, popular tropical fish that require warm, hard water and a diet rich in plant matter.

• Tank size: Provide at least a 10-gallon aquarium for a small group of 3 to 4 fish, though a 20-to-30-gallon tank is better for a larger group.

• Water temperature: Keep the water warm, between 72°F and 80°F (22°C to 27°C).

• Water chemistry: Maintain a pH of 7.0 to 8.5 in hard, alkaline water. Adding a small amount of Aquarium Salt (about one teaspoon per 5 gallons) helps mimic their preference for slightly brackish conditions.

• Filtration: Use a gentle sponge filter or standard power filter with low current, as balloon mollies are less athletic swimmers due to their rounded, compressed body shape.

• Tank Size: At least 20 gallons for a small school, though 29 gallons or larger is preferred for active swimming space.

• Water Temperature: 75°F to 80°F (24°C to 27°C).

• pH Level: 6.0 to 7.5.

• Water Hardness: 5 to 20 dH.

• Decor: Use live or silk plants, driftwood, and a dark substrate to mimic their natural habitat and help them feel secure.
