Kucing tiba-tiba pucat, mata sedikit kuning, makan tak selera dan keluar cecair dari mata dan hidung? 🤔
Mungkin darah kucing dijangkiti kuman! Feline Hemotropic Mycoplasma ialah sejenis patogen bakteria yang melekat pada sel darah merah kucing dan boleh menyebabkan anemia.

Feline Hemotropic Mycoplasma 🐱
▶️ Signalment: Nana, a 4-5 years old domestic cat with vaccine not updated, body weight of 2.76kg and temperature of 37.6°C.
▶️ Clinical Examination: Nana came to the clinic with mucous membrane, mild jaundice, severe dental plaque, dehydrated, lethargy, with fleas, fur mites, and less appetite.
▶️ Diagnostic: Blood Test and Blood Smear
▶️ First Blood Test result shows sign of inflammation and infection, anemia, liver problem, dehydrated, A/G ration 0.68, and parameters of kidney normal.
▶️ First Blood Smear Result shows small basophilic coccoid at RBCs (Red Blood Cells), epicellular location on erythrocytes, anisocytosis, reticulocytosis, and occasional nucleated RBCs.
▶️ Treatments consist of intravenous fluid therapy, Doxycycline antimicrobial therapy, oral medications : liver and blood , supplement, anti-inflammatory , vitamin, and recovery wet foot diet.
▶️ Second Blood Test shows sign of inflammation and infection still persist but no anemia. Parameters of liver and kidney are normal. A/G ratio 0.64.
▶️ Second Blood Smear shows reduction in the nurmber of small basophilic cocoid at RBCs, low parasitemia, reduced organism burden. Nana needs to follow up to redo blood test and blood smear after 2 weeks.
▶️ Nana needs to complete all prescribed oral medications. Owner needs to provide nutrition and hydration, maintain flea prevention, monitor appetite and mucous membrane colour, and follow up to redo blood test or blood smear.
