Recently, we come across rabbits given fashion cuts or shaved almost completely bald. While it may look cute, it is not recommended for rabbits unless medically necessary.
❌ WHY NOT SHAVE A RABBIT?
🐇 1. Fur protects the body
A rabbit’s coat helps provide natural protection from temperature changes, sunlight and environmental irritation.
🐇 2. Rabbit skin is very delicate
Their skin is thin and easily injured by scissors or clippers.
🐇 3. Shaving can cause stress
Rabbits can become frightened during prolonged restraint and grooming. Sudden kicking may result in serious injury.
🐇 4. Higher risk of skin problems
Without their natural coat, the skin is more exposed to scratches, insects, sunburn and irritation.
🐇 5. Grooming should be for health, not fashion
Regular brushing and removing loose or matted fur is important. Full shaving should generally only be considered when medically necessary or when severe matting requires professional intervention.
❤️ A rabbit’s natural coat is part of its wellbeing.

最近，我们收到兔友告知我们有宠物美容师把兔子被修剪成各种“时尚造型”，甚至几乎全身剃光。虽然看起来可能很可爱，但除非出于医疗需要，否则一般不建议给兔子剃光全身毛发。
❌ 为什么不建议给兔子剃毛？
🐇 1. 毛发是身体的天然保护层
兔子的毛发可以帮助调节体温，并保护皮肤免受阳光及环境刺激。
🐇 2. 兔子的皮肤非常脆弱
兔子的皮肤薄而敏感，使用剪刀或电推剪时容易造成割伤、擦伤或皮肤刺激。
🐇 3. 剃毛可能造成压力
长时间固定和美容过程可能让兔子感到恐惧和紧张。兔子受到惊吓时突然踢腿，也可能造成严重的腿部或脊椎伤害。
