How HEY!BOBO Began

Part 1 was about bringing Bobo home.
Part 2 is about how Bobo brought HEY!BOBO to life.
Around June 2020, when Bobo was about three years old, she tried a traditional bar-shaped Yak Cheese® chew for the first time.
She did not know she was changing our lives.
She simply loved it.
Bobo had always hated having her teeth brushed, so we never had an easy way to care for them. Later, we noticed that her teeth looked clean, with no visible tartar or plaque.
That was our family’s personal observation—not a promise that every dog will have the same result. But it made us curious.
We started studying Yak Cheese and discovered its natural origin and why it could be more than just something for a dog to chew.
By September 2020, our first stock arrived. There was no big team, no polished packaging and no perfect business plan. We packed the first orders at home, one by one.
The business began with one dog we loved, one chew she genuinely enjoyed, and a feeling that other dogs deserved the chance to discover it too.
At home, whenever Bobo came toward us, we would call:
“Hey! Bobo coming.”
That familiar little phrase became the name of the brand she inspired:
HEY!BOBO.
Our brand did not begin in a boardroom.
It began with Bobo.
The dog we could never leave behind.
The dog who loved her first Yak Cheese® chew.
The dog who started everything.

Bobo’s real story, Part 1

Before this emergency journey, Bobo came into our family in China in 2017.

For more than three years, Shenzhen was her home.

Bringing Bobo to Malaysia was never part of our plan.

We only came home for Chinese New Year in 2020. Bobo stayed at a pet boarding facility in Shenzhen, and we were supposed to return after the holiday to continue working.

Then COVID broke out.

Our plans changed overnight.

We made a last-minute decision to quit our jobs and stay in Malaysia. Bobo was alone in Shenzhen for more than three months, and bringing her home during Malaysia’s MCO meant paying huge emergency costs and arranging a pet-travel company to move her back.

After she finally landed in Malaysia, there were still more than seven days of quarantine before we could bring her home.

Because leaving Bobo behind was never an option.

We were not trying to start a business. We were simply trying to bring our family home.

We did not know that this difficult journey would become the beginning of HEY!BOBO.

In Part 2, Bobo tries Yak Cheese® for the first time — the moment that inspired our brand.
