Mid-Autumn was yesterday, but our human was busy being busy… so our mooncakes had to wait.

A little late, but definitely worth the wait. 😍

This year, Haru decided to join our little mooncake party too and she brought her husband, Haku, along. 🐱🤎🐱

Thanks,My Pet Canteen, for making sure we didn’t miss out. 🐾❤️

Our morning, in order:

eat breakfast at 06:30am
some of us require room service.
some require the bowl to be held at the correct height.
some require personal assistance because apparently the food doesn’t move itself.

fresh pampers.
then porch time.
then our daily massage appointment.

We may be getting older,
but our mornings are still pretty good. ❤️

It’s been a while, hoomans….
Did you miss us? We missed you too… probably. 😂

Life lately has mostly been naps, meals, little walks, waiting for pawrent, supervising everything pawrent does and, of course, our twice-daily treat time.

There are still sleepy mornings, random barking, cuddles and being summoned for absolutely no reason. Basically, life with us never really stops. 🐶

Today’s treat was a little different. We tried Natural Core apple lolipop And yes, we approved. Very much.

Pawrent says we’re getting older, but we say we’re just becoming more experienced at getting what we want. ❤️

WHAT DOES DEMENTIA LOOK LIKE FOR PENNY?

When people hear “dementia,” they often imagine a dog who no longer has a good quality of life.

But Penny has taught me that it isn’t always that simple.

Sometimes she walks around for hours, seemingly unsure of where she wants to go.

Sometimes she gets confused.
Sometimes she struggles to settle, even when she’s clearly tired.
Sometimes I have to gently put her on her bed and help her understand that it’s time to rest.

But then…

She eats with excitement.
She loves to sniff.
She enjoys being outside with the pack.
She finds a cosy spot and sleeps.
She has little moments where she is completely, wonderfully Penny. 🤍

And sometimes she simply lies down by herself and falls asleep — and those moments make me so happy.

Her world may be changing, but her life isn’t over.

I want to share Penny’s journey because I hope people will see that a dog with dementia can still have comfort, happiness, routines, love and good quality of life.

We just have to learn to see the world a little differently through their eyes.

Our 8am morning routine ☀️🐾

Nakhon and Chok Dee: “Don’t disturb me, I’m enjoying the sun.”
Potato: “Can we go back inside after I pee?”
Penny: “I need to walk around and check everything.”

Four dogs, four different ideas of what “outdoor time” means.

Pawmom just has to follow everyone’s schedule.❤️

🐾 MEET PENNY. 🤍

Penny once had a family of her own. Due to unforeseen circumstances, her owner became unwell and could no longer care for her, so we started looking for another home where she could continue to be loved.

I found Penny a home in KL, where she went for a two-week trial. Unfortunately, she was returned after a vet visit raised concerns that she may be showing early signs of canine cognitive dysfunction — dementia in dogs.

By then, I knew that shelter life might not be the right place for this senior girl.

So Penny came back to me. For now, I’ll be caring for her myself, at my own expense, while we see what the future holds for her.

Penny is 10 years old now. She may be a little slower these days. Her legs can be shaky, her eyes aren’t what they used to be, and sometimes she gets confused.

But she is still Penny.

She still loves her food.
She still loves to sniff.
She still enjoys being with the pack.
She still enjoys her little routines.

And she still has so much love and life in her.

I’ll be sharing more of Penny’s journey here at JJ K9 Retreat. The good days, the difficult days, and what life with a senior dog living with dementia can really look like.

Because growing old doesn’t mean life stops being worth living.

Welcome to Penny’s second chapter.❤️

⚠️URGENT FOSTER / FOREVER HOME NEEDED⚠️
Location : Kuala Lumpur

They don’t know they were abandoned. They only know the people they loved never came back. 💔

Meet Hailey 🤍 and Bailey 🧡.

Hailey about 1 - 2 year old was found sitting in the exact same spot for hours, quietly waiting… as if she still believed her family would come back for her. She was frightened, confused, and heartbroken.

Bailey is only about a year old. Somehow, despite everything she’s been through, she still walks up to people hoping for love. She hasn’t stopped believing that humans are kind.

They were found in a place with “Do Not Feed Cats” signs. They are believed to have been abandoned there.

These girls aren’t street cats. They were once someone’s babies. They don’t know how to survive outside. They don’t know where to find food, where to hide from danger, or why the people they trusted disappeared.
They don’t know what they did wrong.
One day they had a home.
The next day they were treated like they meant nothing.

They have now been spayed and will be discharged this Sunday.
The rescuer’s home is already full and she has nowhere else to keep them.

If no foster or adopter comes forward by Sunday, they will have to be released back to the same place they were found.

Can you imagine finally feeling safe again… only to be put back onto the streets where nobody wants you?

Every cat deserves to know that when they fall asleep tonight, they’ll wake up in the same loving home tomorrow. Hailey and Bailey don’t have that certainty.

Please don’t let their second chance end before it even begins.

If you can foster, adopt, or even share this post, you could be the reason they never have to wonder why they were left behind ever again.

Please reach out to Joey Ooi if ur able to foster or give them a forever home….

8-Year-Old Female Schnauzer Looking for a Loving Home
Location: Johor Bahru

Sometimes, rehoming a beloved pet isn’t about a lack of love. Sometimes, it’s one of the hardest decisions a family will ever have to make.

This sweet 8-year-old female Schnauzer is looking for a new forever home due to unforeseen changes in her family’s circumstances.

Her pawrents are an elderly couple who have loved and cared for her dearly. Recently, the husband became seriously ill and now requires around-the-clock care. His wife is doing everything she can while balancing work, caring for her husband, managing their home, and trying her best for their beloved dog. With no children or family members able to help, they have come to the heartbreaking realization that they can no longer give her the time and care she deserves.

This decision was made entirely out of love.

If she is unable to find a suitable home, the only remaining option will be for her to enter a shelter. While shelters do their best, nothing compares to the comfort, stability, and love of a real home. Our hope is that she can move directly from the only family she’s known into another family who will love her just as much.

She is a gentle, affectionate girl who enjoys human companionship and gets along well with other dogs. She would thrive in a home with other furkids or a family who can give her the companionship and love she deserves.

Senior dogs may have a little grey on their faces, but they have so much love left to give. All she asks for is a safe place to call home and someone to love for the rest of her life.

If you think you could be the family she’s been waiting for, or if you know someone who can, please reach out.

Every share could help change her future. ❤️

For more information, please PM or WhatsApp 0109313137.

Ps : im not the owner. We are just helping to rehome her as we do not wish that she goes to the shelter.
