Dermatitis, yeast & bacterial infections and food allergies are, in TCVM, most commonly diagnosed as DAMP HEAT. Raw foods may manage Damp Heat in our carnivorous dogs & cats as raw food takes longer to digest and has a less dampening effect on the SPLEEN (*capital letter refers to an organ as perin TCVM definition).

But for pet patients with a weak pulse a longer digestion time can be a burden.

Also, SPLEEN deficient pets may be more prone to get sick by salmonella (mostly found in raw foods).

Luckily, our pets tell us if their body can't take raw. They simply won't accept (or be very hesitant to eat) raw food.

In this case, we should instead offer nutritious high quality cooked food meals.

Let's start listening and understanding our pets! 💚
