One of the most common reasons for veterinary visits is: skin problems!😅
Most veterinarians will become quite familiar with managing common dermatological conditions after a few years of practice. However, there will always be that smaller group of cases — probably less than 10% — that are more challenging and worth discussing💪
What makes dermatology interesting is that it requires a systematic approach for every case, while the treatment often needs to be tailor-made for each individual patient😳
It can be simple, but sometimes surprisingly complicated😏
The approach is usually multimodal, and treatment success depends not only on the veterinarian, but also on multiple stakeholders — the owner, the veterinary team, and of course, the pet🐶🐱
That is why it is always worthwhile to revisit the basics, keep ourselves updated with new developments, and discuss challenging cases. Ultimately, it is about improving the treatment outcome for every patient👍

This month, we have added an endoscope in-house, allowing us to perform an even more thorough examination of the ear canal💪💪💪
