Eye discharge is a common in dogs. While some types are completely normal, others could potentially raise serious health concerns.

Here’s a quick guide 👇
1. A Little Goop or Crust
- Small amounts of crust, especially after sleep are normal
2. Watery Eyes
- Clear, teary discharge may be caused by dust, wind, or mild irritation
- If it happens often, it could be allergies or blocked tear ducts
3. Reddish-Brown Tear Stains
- Common in light-coloured fur dogs & often linked to tear overflow or minor irritation
4. White-Gray Mucus
- Thicker discharge could mean dry eye or not enough tear production & may need treatment to keep the eyes properly lubricated
5. Yellow or Green Eye Discharge
- Usually a sign of infection & often comes with redness, swelling, or discomfort. This would needs a vet visit as soon as possible

✨Here’s a quick way to tell them apart:
1. Social vs Solitary
- Gerbils love company (best in pairs)
- Hamsters prefer to live alone

2. Active Time
- Gerbils are active in the day
- Hamsters are night owls

3. Handling
- Gerbils are usually easier to handle
- Hamsters can be more sensitive or nippy

4. Looks
- Gerbils: long tails, slimmer bodies
- Hamsters: short tails, round bodies with cheek pouches

Cats and dogs seem like the perfect pair, but did you know dogs can actually be allergic to cats? 🐶🐱

It’s possible, just not very common. Here’s what pet owners should know 👇
• It can be caused by proteins in a cat’s dander, saliva, or skin oils.
• Symptoms can look like other allergies, such as Itchy skin, scratching, or licking paws, etc.

It could be hard to spot at first & often mistaken for dust, food, or flea allergies, but the good news, IT’S MANAGEABLE! With proper care, both pets can still live together
