☀️ Heat can become a medical emergency faster than you think.

Puerto Vallarta's high temperatures and humidity put both dogs and cats at risk of heat stress and heatstroke, especially during the hottest hours of the day.

Help keep your pets safe:
💧 Provide fresh water at all times.
🌴 Make sure they always have access to shade and good ventilation.
🚶 Walk dogs early in the morning or after sunset.
🐾 Avoid hot pavement—it can burn paw pads in seconds.
🚗 Never leave a pet inside a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.

🚨 Warning signs:
Excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, bright red gums, disorientation, collapse, or seizures.

If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet to a cool area, begin cooling with cool (not ice-cold) water, and seek immediate veterinary attention. Heatstroke is a life-threatening emergency where every minute counts.

⚠️ Toad Alert! Rainy season is here in Puerto Vallarta. ☔🐸

With the rains, toads become much more common in yards, gardens, sidewalks, and streets—especially after sunset.

A single lick or bite can be enough to cause a life-threatening emergency in dogs and cats.

🚨 If your pet touches or mouths a toad:
• Rinse the mouth immediately with running water.
• Do not wait for symptoms to appear.
• Contact your veterinarian or the nearest emergency clinic right away.

The best prevention is simple: keep pets on a leash during walks, supervise them outdoors, and avoid letting them investigate toads.

A few seconds of curiosity can become a medical emergency. Stay alert and help keep your pets safe this rainy season. 🐾
