And THIS, folks, is why we train the PLACE command!💥

Real life happens. Unexpected things come up ALL the time, and we want our dogs to know exactly what to do when they do!

The Place command isn’t just a fun trick. It’s a valuable real-world skill that provides structure, clear communication, and a safe place for your dog to settle when things get busy or unpredictable.
It’s not a matter of IF the Place command will come in handy... it’s a matter of WHEN!👏

Train for real life, not just the training
session!💪

7-month-old Finn came to me for a Board & Train with a few goals: better leash skills, basic obedience, and most importantly… CONFIDENCE. 🔥

There’s a common belief that a fearful rescue dog must have been abused or traumatized. But honestly, that’s not usually the case.

More often, they simply weren’t exposed to enough of the world during those critical early socialization stages.

And while you can’t go back and reopen that window, you CAN teach a dog what to do when something feels scary.

Take the trash truck, for example. Instead of letting Finn panic, we taught him to stay with his handler, walk in a heel, and follow their lead—even when something feels BIG and intimidating.

Finn still has moments where he’s unsure, and that’s okay.

The goal isn’t to make every scary thing disappear.

The goal is to teach him: “I don’t have to figure this out on my own. I can trust my person to lead me through it.”

And watching that confidence grow has been incredible. ❤️

Oh Wilbur! You are beyond cute 🥰

10 week old Wilbur did sooooooooo good at his New Puppy 101 Training appointment 🎉.
I’m so proud of this boy and his parents for continuing to work so hard and keep Wilbur on track with his training.
