Friends....
We are asking for prayers tonight for Gunther.
One year ago to the day, Gunther had bloat with torsion and getting him to the ER quickly saved his life that night (this same night) last year.
Here we are, one year later, and Gunther is not doing well, not because of bloat, but because we believe old age is catching up to him.
He collapsed this afternoon while out for a walk, a short walk (because he cannot walk that far on any given day now as his back legs and hips have been failing for several months). He is not eating anything (not even his favorite, steak)....he has pharyngeal paralysis so his breathing is labored at times...and now he cannot even stand up or move his legs.
We ask if you could just send up a few prayers for Gunther tonight, prayers for comfort and peace, and that he is not suffering as we try to figure out what is the best thing to do for him. (He is on CBD oil to relax him and allow him to rest...calming music is playing, lights are low, and he's laying on his favorite bed in the guest room. His "dad" will lay with him there through the night and will take him to his regular vet first thing in the morning).
Who knows, maybe he will bounce back and be good to go....and if not, he has been told he is the bestest boy that ever lived and he is loved so, so much...and if he is tired and needs to "go", we will be okay....until we are together again on the other side of that rainbow bridge.
Prayers would be so greatly appreciated.
