Falih and Sona both waited years for this moment.
Falih had been at the refuge since 2020, making him our longest resident. Our senior boy lives with leishmaniasis and still carries the scars from a snake bite he survived last year.
But none of that mattered to his new mum. She saw Falih for who he is and gave him a name that couldnโt suit him better: ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐ต. โค๏ธ
After all those years at the refuge, Falih recently travelled to his forever home in the Netherlands.
Just look at him now!
He shares his home with five other rescue dogs, enjoys his walks, hangs around the house and makes the most of all the food he can get.
And then there is Sona. โค๏ธ
Sona had been with us since 2021. Year after year went by without the right family coming along. Until finally, after all that waiting, it was her turn too.
Sona travelled to Denmark to start her new life with her mum and dad, and in just a few weeks she has completely settled in. They absolutely adore her and think the world of her - and Sona finally knows what it feels like to have a home of her own.
For years, the refuge was their home.
Now they have something even better.

Fearless Falih and sweet Sona, your turn finally came.
Enjoy every second of your new lives. You waited long enough. ๐พ
(And thereโs even more good news: 2026 turned out to be a very special year for Sona and her sisters. โ๏ธ
After years of waiting, all of them have now found their forever homes. Zoey, Ellie and Nele also travelled to their new families this year โ which means every single one of the sisters is finally home.)
