😎☀️Long summer, different routines, lots of freedom… and perhaps everyday manners aren’t quite where you’d like them to be?

⭐️Our new 🐕NO TENSION – Leash Walking Workshop🐕‍🦺is a practical, hands-on reset for young dogs, older dogs and everyone in between.⭐️👍

In just a few hours, we’ll work on the things that make everyday life easier:

🐾 More comfortable, relaxed leash walking
🐾 Better focus around distractions
🐾 Calmer greetings and passing other dogs
🐾 Waiting, settling and self-control
🐾 A stronger connection between you and your dog

And this isn’t just practice in a training bubble:
we’ll create realistic everyday situations with dogs, people and distractions, so you can practise the skills where they really matter – out in the real world.

You’ll get individual guidance from your Trainer, find out what works best for you and your dog, and leave with simple, practical techniques you can continue using on your everyday walks.

Young or older, a little rusty after the summer or still working on those everyday manners – no perfect leash skills required!

A few hours. A practical reset. Better walks ahead. 🐾

TIPS FOR COPING WITH SUMMER HEAT☀️🔥:

🐾Our groomers Viktorija and Marta at Martha & Friends Dog Wellness often get requests to shave a dog extra short for the summer. Here is why NOT to do this: the coat actually protects the dog from overheating and the sun! ⛱️🏖️
🐾The photos below show that a well-maintained coat without excess undercoat (if the dog is double coated) or mats and knots for others actually allow for air to circulate and gives protection from the sun. Excess undercoat or matting promote overheating 🥵
🐾So: treat your dog to a session at the groomers to prepare for your summer holidays! Besides, every dog deserves to look his best 🐕⭐️!

🐾Another great recommendation for coping with the summer heat, and which we use on our own dogs here at Martha’s: GET A GOOD COOLING VEST! (Our clients, especially those who hike agree!)
🐾We have found one of the models by Finnish PAIKKA to be the best (covers the whole back), and we still have some stock left in several sizes. These cooling vests are based on evaporation after being moistened with water, which has been proven to lower the core body temperature!
🐾Carina’s show Scottish Terriers have managed summer temperatures well these last years - see International Champion Scottie Henry (INT & Multi CH Tartan Dreams Quiddich Champion) waiting for his turn in the baking show ring at the Aarau IDS ’25! (He won Best of Breed 🏆⭐️)!

🏡🐾 COMING HOME – LIFE WITH A RESCUE DOG 🐾🏡

🐕Bringing a rescue dog home can be hugely rewarding but also very challenging! 💛

This can come with many questions and uncertainties:
How do you help your new dog settle in?
How do you build trust?
How can you support your dog as you both adjust to a completely new life?

Every rescue dog has a story. Every rescue dog deserves the chance to feel safe, understood, and confident in their new home.

That's why we're excited to introduce our newest workshop:
✨ 🐕Coming Home – Life with a Rescue Dog
This 6-session course is designed specifically for newly adopted rescue dogs and their families. Together, we'll help you:
🐾 Understand your dog's behaviour and needs
🐾 Build trust and confidence
🐾 Create routines and clear communication
🐾 Develop essential life skills
🐾 Strengthen your bond from the very beginning

👨‍🏫 With Artur Bonarski – who has changed the life of several Romanian rescue dogs, and is today the proud Dad of rescues Buju and Cora.

Through daycare, boarding, and training, we’ve had the privilege of sharing a small part of their journey as they settled into their new homes and grew into the wonderful dogs they are today. 🐕🐾 The Thing About Puppies… 🐾🐕

They chew your slippers - and everything else.
They zoom around the house at top speed.
They wake you up at 5am.

But while all the zoomies and mischief are happening, something really important is happening too…
