🇫🇷 Chers (futurs) promeneurs,
À partir du 13 juillet, tous les nouveaux promeneurs devront suivre un cours d’introduction avant de pouvoir obtenir leur carte de promeneur. Le premier cours aura lieu le samedi 18 juillet à 13h30, puis chaque samedi à la même heure. Le cours sera proposé simultanément en luxembourgeois, en français et en anglais. À compter du 13 juillet, aucune nouvelle carte de promeneur ne sera délivrée sans participation préalable à ce cours.
Cette décision repose sur plusieurs constats. Les promenades de l’après-midi constituent un élément important du quotidien de nos chiens. Elles leur offrent de l’exercice, une stimulation mentale, une rupture avec la routine du refuge ainsi qu’un contact précieux avec différentes personnes. Cela implique également une certaine responsabilité.
Nos chiens arrivent au refuge avec des parcours de vie très variés, ce qui entraîne des besoins et des problématiques tout aussi variés. Malgré cela, les règles que nous avons mises en place continuent malheureusement à être enfreintes régulièrement, ce qui peut représenter un risque important pour la sécurité des chiens comme des personnes. Notre récent communiqué public n’a eu qu’un effet limité.
Grâce à ce cours d’introduction, nous souhaitons nous assurer que les promeneurs connaissent parfaitement notre règlement et comprennent les raisons qui se cachent derrière chaque règle. Nous aborderons également plusieurs principes fondamentaux concernant la gestion et la manipulation des chiens de refuge.
Nous sommes reconnaissants envers toutes les personnes qui souhaitent offrir de leur temps à nos chiens. Avec ce nouveau cours, nous créons une meilleure base pour une interaction sûre et respectueuse entre tous les participants. Il marque également le début d’une nouvelle orientation : à l’avenir, le Déierenasyl entend accorder encore davantage d’importance à la compétence, à la formation et à la sensibilisation, afin d’établir des standards clairs en matière de respect et de bien-être animal. De nombreuses nouveautés verront le jour dans ce domaine au cours des prochains mois.
Le cours durera environ 20 minutes. Les inscriptions seront possibles chaque samedi entre 12h30 et 13h30. Les participants recevront leur carte de promeneur à l’issue du cours.

🏴 Dear (future) Dog Walkers,
Starting on July 13, all new dog walkers will be required to attend an intro course before receiving their dog walker card. The first course will take place on Saturday, July 18 at 1:30 p.m., and will then be held every Saturday thereafter. Naturally, the course will be offered in Luxembourgish, French, and English. From July 13 onward, no new dog walker cards will be issued without prior completion of the course.
This decision is based on several factors. Afternoon walks are an important part of our dogs' daily lives. They provide exercise, enrichment, a break from shelter routines, and valuable contact with different people. At the same time, they come with a certain level of responsibility.
Our dogs arrive at the shelter with a wide variety of backgrounds, which inevitably results in different needs and challenges. Unfortunately, the rules we have established are still regularly disregarded, creating significant safety risks for both people and dogs. Our recent public statement only had a short-lived effect.
With this introductory course, we want to ensure that our dog walkers are familiar with our rules and, more importantly, understand the reasons behind them. We will also cover several fundamental principles regarding the handling of shelter dogs.
We are grateful to everyone who wants to support our dogs. This new course will provide a stronger foundation for safe and respectful interactions. At the same time, it marks the beginning of a new direction: in the future, the Déierenasyl intends to place an even greater emphasis on knowledge, competence, and education, while establishing clear standards for the respectful treatment of animals. There are many exciting developments to come in this area.
The course will last approximately 20 minutes. Registration will be possible every Saturday during the hour before the course (12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.). Participants will receive their dog walker card upon completion of the course.
