Care For The Voiceless - C4V

Care For The Voiceless - C4V Care for the Voiceless is a non-profit organization based in Sri Lanka to rescue strays and all other animals who are suffering, abused or neglected.

Care for the Voiceless is a non-profit animal rescue organization whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, place homeless dogs and cats with loving new families and help all kind of animal beings who deserve the equal right to live on earth with peace and harmony same as human beings. Mainly we are focusing of Adoption and Re-homing, Sterilization and Vaccination, Feeding Programmers, Saving th

e Injured, Education and Awareness Programmers and igniting change in the lives of stray dogs and cats throughout the island. We do so without the benefit of paid employees. We have a wonderful network of volunteers of all over in Sri Lanka to help support our efforts. We also provide follow-up support to the individuals and families who adopt a dog or a cat from us. Care for the Voiceless volunteers are always available to provide advice on health and behavioral problems that may arise after an adoption. We are here to help you find the perfect canine companion and to help every stray find a perfect forever home. Our new project is is Saving Cattle and Goats from Slaughtering Houses. In present, even most people abhor eating beef still a large number of cattle are slaughtered daily in the country for consumption and the methods adopted for slaughtering of these animals can largely be considered as inhumane. Considering the poor plight of these animals, Care for the Voiceless has initiated a program to save these poor animals from death by buying cattle from the Slaughtering Houses and donating such saved cattle to farmers who can look after these animals till they inherit a natural death. Generally each cow will cost around Rs.25,000/- to Rs.65,000/- (depending on the weight of the animal) and so far Care for the Voiceless has been in a position to save two cows from certain death with the generous contributions received from well wishers and we are hoping to continue this. We believe that every creature with a will to live has a right to live free from pain and suffering. That is why we are being the Voice for the Voiceless...

In the attempt of controlling the spared of stray animals !

Our wish is to have a country free of stray animals. In order to achieve that we decided to organize sterilization/ spaying programs.

We choose ‘Ariyanandaramaya’ temple located in udu thuthurupitiya in Gampaha. Initial steps were taken on 31st of January 2021 and it was lead by one of our dearest members, Janaki Kollure.

Main thero of the temple had all the dumped animals on temple ground being vaccinated on time to prevent them from breeding. This happened due to irresponsible people in the village and near areas use the temple as their dumping ground for stray cats and dogs. But as we know already, being vaccinated against birth controlling in animals caused many health problems and made a lot of them sick and even to lose their life. But thanks to our program all these poor abandoned animals were sterilized and vaccinated safely.

It is time for people think that the temple is not the place to dump animals and makes it a dog/cat sanctuary. Our organization took the responsibility when they were in need and as humans it’s your responsibility to serve the purpose as well.

7 cats and 14 female dogs were spayed/neutered and in total it was 21.
We paid a sum of Rs.38500 from the funds money . Dr. Malinga Prasad and the team led this program successfully and traveled all the way from Kegalle to Gampaha.

Our hope is to organize these type of programs all over the country when ever we can.
Even a small Rs.100 you make towards our fund can make a big change in a stray animal’s life. And we would always keep our promise to you 🙏

Out heart filled gratitude towards Buddika, Thilini Mihiri and everyone in the family . Keeshaly , Dr.Malinga and the team . And Rishan for the banner. Not to forget our dear admins and for everyone who have helped us to organize this and helped made it a success!
Thanks a million!! Wishing you more and more abundance and good health🙏

‘Rishu’

Even for an animal , It is very unfortunate being disabled since early age.
The one we are above to tell the story is currently under Rishu Imalsha’s care.

Both of her rear legs were broken and was unable to walk . Imalsha reach to us in good faith because she had hopes for ‘Rishu’s recovery.

We were able take Rishu to Dr.Kanishka in Develapola. But unfortunately Rishu might not be able to use her back legs and play like other puppies. Imalsha is putting her complete effort towards the wellbeing of Rishu . We would be thrilled to see that she will gain her ability to walk using her four legs really soon 🙏

Paid a sum of Rs.900 towards her vet bills and the transportation cost was borne by Imalsha.
Our hope is to help more and more poor souls like
Rishu.

Our immense gratitude towards Imalsha , for being the savior of Rishu . And for those who had ever contributed towards our fund. Also for Your encouragement and support!
May your lives be blessed with full of abundance and more health !! May you live a long happy life !! 🙏

Minuwnagoda ‘Sudda’ .......
*****************************-

There are two types of people. Some choose to hurt innocent animals and the rest would always lend a helping hand in rescuing them.

‘Sudda’ was injured by someone with a sharp object by attacking his face. On 22nd of January he was taken to Dr.Kanishka by Solanga Arachchi. Luckily his eye was alright despite his face injury and we were able to save his life .

His payment for the vet of Rs.900 paid by our fund.

We are grateful towards Solanga Arachchi, for taking actions on saving Sudda’s life .
Many more thanks and blessings to everyone who helps us to make this good cause a reality everyday !!May these blessing go to your loved & lost pets !!
Wishing everyone long lives and more good Health!!

‘Kuku’ from Kurunagala..
*************************

We found this helpless street pooch lying on a road in Kurunagala and we named him ‘Kuku’.
This rescue was done by Zaid Zain, as he informed us regarding this sick dog .On 20th of January he was taken to the veterinarian hospital in Kurunagala. Unfortunately we could not save his life.

Kuku was in a critical condition due a kidney failure even at the time he was taken to the vet. Just before He was supposed to be taken to the vet on the 2nd day , he passed away.
If Kuku was rescued by some kind hearted before his condition got worsen he could have been saved .😞

However,we had to say good bye to you Kuku !
Let us hope your next life will be a better one !

We thank Pradeep & Zaid, who helped us to get Kuku to the hospital. 🙏
Also who had ever contributed towards our fund that was enable paying for Kuku’s hospital bill of Rs. 4150.00.
May your lives be blessed with full of abundance and more health !!

Unfortunate story of ‘Sapu’...
***************************--

Facebook has become a place, where we get know about many helpless poor strays on a daily basis.

I got know about ‘Sapu’ through a post which was being shared in FB. As soon I got to know that this poor boy was laying on a road in Sapugakkanda area, we rushed him to Dr.Pet hospital in Kadwatha despite it being the middle of the night.

Though we suspected that he was unable to get up or walk due to an accident, the veterinarian diagnosed him with distemper.

Though He was getting continuous In-house medical care for days, with the help of Sachi Perera, ‘Sapu’ did not show any improvement. As his condition got worsen we also consulted Dr.Kanishka, because we could not give up on him and had so much hope for him!

Despite our best efforts for days, he couldn’t fight for his life anymore therefore we had to say goodbye to ‘Sapu’. 😞

Dear ‘Sapu’ we wish that you will not suffer like this ever again or being born to this world as a voiceless poor soul.

Dr.pet fee was Rs .4150
Dr.Kanishkas Rs.1800
Transportation fee of Rs. 4500 , for three days.

Total of Rs.10450 was paid from our fund.

Thank you Sachi Perera, for bringing ‘Sapu’s matter to us and taking taking care of him for days 🙏

Many thanks and blessings to everyone who helps us to help these voiceless angels !! Every penny you make towards our fund is saving lives of the most helpless stray. May your lives be blessed with full of abundance and more health

Further, we wish that each blessings we get by helping a poor soul like ‘Sapu’ , will be on Sapu to get a good life next time. And never being born to a cruel world like this ever again !😔

Henegama " Bunty "
*********************

Street animals without caretakers suffer a lot. You have a superior mind to imagine how helpless they would be if they got sick, deprived of even the chance to get proper food and drink. That is why there are many people who post information about sick animals on the internet.

I also got the message about "Bunty" online.

He lived near a shop in Henegama, Gampaha. Bunty, who lived a miserable life, became ill as he got older. When he finds someone who is desperate to cure him, he develops a cancer that covers the ge***al area and passes away with great difficulty. Bunty is now recovering from the message I received at the Dewalapola Dr kanishka (Universal Vets) Clinic without a day's delay ...

If the cancer that was surgically removed does not grow back, "Bunty" will have a chance to live longer. We released him to the usual shade as it was difficult to find a permanent shade. We are comforted by the presence of the two members who gave the message and the shop owners who came to see Bunty recovering .......
Kanchana Chathurani, who went to the scene with the Dog Catcher for the difficult mission of capturing the animal in pain, made a great sacrifice until the treatment was completed and released.

Dog Catcher, Transport and Treatment Fees Rs. 9,200.00. Your support to the Group Fund as much as you could covered the amount, and we did not have to pay for the medicines because the two members who gave us the information about Bunty provided them.

Those who are passionate about the plight of stray animals have joined our organization and we have been able to help a large number of sick animals .........

Thank you to everyone who contributed money, labour and even a word to heal "Bunty"

May all of you be free from sudden troubles, illnesses, diseases and epidemics for the rest of your life !!

May this be a cause for longevity!!

Bunty get well soon!

‘Beenu’
••••••••••••

It caught my attention on a post in the group about a disabled dog without help near Fashion bug Bandarawela.

It was posted by Yoshani Wickramasinha. After getting in touch with her we could took this poor soul to see veterinarian Dr.Wijewardana for necessary medical attention.

We named him ‘Beenu’ . He had a fractured bone in one of his legs and the closest assumption was it could have caused due an accident. Therefore Beenu was given medicine & calcium which could help to heal the fracture . Further he was given Rabies vaccine too . Fortunately Yoshani agreed to shelter and provide care for Beenu until he heals completely and Beenu could get his daily calcium intake under the care of Yoshani.
As per the doctors assumption, Beenu will be healed completely within a week or two .
Transportation was funded by Yoshani & Surani.

Veterinarian fee was Rs .2800 and this was paid by our fund . And we hope you will continue to support us 🙏

Veterinarian fee was Rs.2700 for the second doctors visit , and the transportation cost was covered by Yoshani Wickramasinha.

We paid a total of Rs.5500 towards Beenus medical care .

Even a small Rs.100 you make towards our fund can make a big change in a stray animal’s life in need.
Please continue to help us to help voiceless innocents in need.🙏

Many thanks and blessings to everyone who helped us to make this good cause a reality everyday !! May these blessing go to your loved & lost pets !!
May your lives be blessed with full of abundance and more health amidst COVID-19 🙏

Beenu is fully recovered now and he is able to walk properly. We would have to release him to the place where we’ve found him , if we couldn’t find an owner for him 😞

C4V, Our only hope now is to find a permanent owner for Beenu . He is a very charming & innocent boy .
Please do open your heart for him and be his hero 🙏

“Brownie”

Brownie was found by Surani Herath at Bandarawela railway housing scheme.
She was suffering from vaginal cancer.

DR. Wijewardhana physically went there to treat brownie. She wasn’t tamed so we had to put an effort to take her under our control however Rish*tha Amodya, Upalinda Bandara, Shakila Ashani and Surani has done the major work regarding Brownie.
She has to go through another vaccination program in 14 days and we will take the full responsibility of it.
It will cost 8000/= for us to take her through the surgery and cure her so we kindly request you to help us with your possible donations.

We would like to thank Surani and the rest of the team members for being with us and helping us to cure these innocent souls we find everyday!
