Exceptional veterinary care is built on knowledge, experience, and genuine compassion, and Dr. Achira Fernando brings all three together beautifully. With professional expertise spanning Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery, Fish Medicine, Farm Animal Production and Medicine, Poultry Nutrition and Production, as well as Hematology, Oncology, and Cytology, he brings a diverse and well-rounded approach to veterinary care.
Dr. Achira joined the PetVet family in 2022 as a Companion Animal Veterinarian. A graduate of the University of Peradeniya with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc), he is currently pursuing his MPhil while continuously expanding his knowledge through multiple professional certifications and CPDs.
His passion for veterinary medicine extends across many areas, with particular interests in Oncology, Dermatology, Pathology, Parasitology, Internal Medicine, Feline Medicine, and Geriatric Care. His academic and professional journey has also included veterinary research and serving as a Temporary Lecturer at the University of Peradeniya.
With his strong clinical knowledge, broad experience, and commitment to continuous learning, Dr. Achira combines professional expertise with a compassionate approach to every patient.
