Have you taken part in this yearβs Reptilewatch for The Jersey Biodiversity Centre?πΏπ¦
Reptilewatch JE is a monitoring scheme designed to help learn more about Jerseyβs native reptiles and contribute valuable data to support their conservation. The scheme runs from March to the end of October, so thereβs still time to get involved!
Hereβs how to take part:
1. Download and print the Reptilewatch Level 1 survey form from: https://groups.arguk.org/jarg
2. Check out the factsheets and identification guides to help you recognise our native reptiles.
3. Choose a day with sunshine or partial cloud cover, when the temperature is between 10Β°C and 20Β°C.
4. Head out for a walk anywhere around the island and enjoy exploring Jerseyβs wildlife.
5. Set a timer for 30 minutes and complete your survey form, recording any reptiles you spot.
6. Submit your results! Every record helps build an understanding of Jerseyβs reptile populations and contributes important data to this project.
Submit your survey results here: https://www.jerseybiodiversitycentre.org.je/reptilewatch/level-1-form
Spotted a reptile outside of a survey? You can still make a valuable contribution by submitting your sighting here: https://www.jerseybiodiversitycentre.org.je/records/enter-casual/
Every report helps to discover more about Jerseyβs native reptiles and protect our islandβs biodiversity. π
