do with "official" dog related events. Vincenzo and his wife Flora started breeding Smooth Fox Terriers, a breed the whole family still appreciates for its unique elegance and stubbornness. At the same time Vincenzo was a keen ornamental pigeon breeder and competed in important shows all over Europe meeting his fellow fanciers and eventually becoming a well-appreciated judge. One day while visiting a Swiss friend he came upon an Appenzeller, one of the three Swiss Mountain Dog breeds, whose smaller size and greater vivacity made it more appealing to him than the better known Bernese Mountain Dog. It was in 1989 when the foundation dogs “Bello les Vacheries Bruniers” and “Uschka de Noville” came to Camposalice and became part of our family. Becoming real breeders seemed a long way away, however, with the encouragement of many dog people, and an unexpected litter, our family of Appenzeller grew until we applied for and received our official kennel Affixe "Ca' dei Corsi" from the Italian Kennel Club ENCI in 1992. Our kennel name was chosen for the dialectal word Ca' which means both "casa" or home and "cane" of course dog. Actually Flora was responsible for turning a hobby into a real family activity (business). In time other breeds attracted our fancy and soon, in 1993, Zwergpinschers (Miniature Pinschers) were added along with the Appenzellers, however in 2011we decided to stop breeding MinPins and our breeding dogs are living out their lives with us as cherished house pets. We have also been breeding Bernese Mountain dogs since 2000 when we acquired “Mamours du Ruisseau Ensoleille” as our foundation bitch. In 2003 a curly little Lagotto Romagnolo, “Raffaella di Casa Cleo”, puppy became part of our household and lately some members of our family have been attracted to small molosser dogs and our choice fell on the French Bulldog and we chose “Greta des Boules de Florialy” as our foundation bitch. In all these years along with the above mentioned breeds our fancy has turned to several other great breeds like the fantastic Australian Shepherd, the dynamic Jack Russel Terrier, playful Boxers and the imposing American Akita. Breeding dogs became the main activity in our family and in 1996 Flora officially became an "agricultural entrepreneur" while Vincenzo, who was more attracted to the finer points in dog conformation became a Dog Show Judge. This doggy couple transmitted their passion to their children Andrea and Angela who have both become Veterinary Surgeons. Andrea enrolled in the Veterinary School in Milan after attending the "Agrarian Tech High" in Treviglio. After graduation he spent a year abroad, at the Fregis Veterinarian Hospital in Paris, and, after this internship, he enrolled in the ECAR "European College of Animal Reproduction" in Lion to specialize in small animal reproduction. He is one of only 19 Italians with a degree from this famous institution. At present Dr. Andrea del Carro runs a private practice in the Cote d'Azure and helps the family concern at the same time. Angela has recently graduated with top marks in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Turin after attending an "Agrarian Tech High" in Asti. At the moment she is busy with her own baby, Matteo Gregorio, we hope he has also inherited the family passion for dogs and breeding.
