Vanzylii vs rangei 👽

Which is your favourite Pachydactylus?

Special post about Coleonyx variegatus
I noticed this thing some time ago but I’ll wait to see if it’s work for all my breeder and holdback and in my opinion it’s a true thing.
You can see different males in the first 3 pics all of them have a fluorescent part behind the fringes. You can also see male with female for a best difference. And the last 2 pics are 2 different female all without this particular thing but the last one with a special pattern that seems orange with uv light (This also happened to me with Pachydactylus rangei).

Hope you enjoy this details and let me know if you will try too and what you think!

Uv light 365 nm💜

Pachydactylus vanzylii fluorescence 🦎 👽

Unlike the more linear fluorescence of their cousins P. rangei, Pachydactylus vanzylii have spots that are also found in their pattern that present melanophores and iridrophores in the case of fluorescence part. A truly incredible species with semi-palmed legs adapted to more rocky areas than the sandy dunes of Namibia.

Young male and one of my breeding female (last two pics)
