The largest known living organism is a fungus.
A specimen of *Armillaria ostoyae*, or “honey fungus”, to be precise.
It is a network in Oregon's Malheur National Forest, stretching across nearly 10 square kilometers. That’s over 2,386 acres, or roughly 3.7 square miles, and is estimated to be between 2,400 and 8,650 years old!
The coolest part: it is mostly invisible.
