This Holi, keep your colors off the animals! Just so you'd know, painting, coloring or using chemicals on animals is punishable under Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

Also, the colors might contain substances harmful to puppies and dogs- if the dog is consistently licking the colors, it could poison itself. Additionally, holi colors may cause: loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, sneezing, coughing, discharge from nostrils, excessive thirst. It could also lead to speedy hair loss in a short time and in extreme cases, blindness.

Be kind, Be humane ! And have a Happy, environment friendly Holi !

A female stray dog's litter in one of Mira Rd's society was a cause of nuisance to its residents when the adorable little puppies started moving around aimlessly.
Later matters started getting worse due to persistent complaints from the society members regarding the puppies and one them getting killed by a vehicle, animal activist and also president of Hope For Animals Mrs. Chintha Ravindranathan came forward to rescue the pups from being killed by vehicles and being thrown away from the society.
She has made a safe enclosure for these pups and has kept this cage outside her society gate tending to their daily needs. These cute little pups are up for adoption of which three pups have already been adopted and the female stray dog has been sent for sterilization.

This stray dog's leg was run over by a garbage truck resulting in multiple fractures. His leg was totally twisted and crushed which caused him unbearable pain.
He is currently hospitalised and the vet has advised amputation of the crushed leg in order to avoid infection.
An appeal to all. Please pray for his speedy recovery
