🐾 4 POUNDS. ONE TINY DOG. ONE INCREDIBLE WAR HERO. 🇺🇸

In 1944, an American soldier found a tiny Yorkshire Terrier in a foxhole in New Guinea.

Her name was Smoky.
She weighed just 4 pounds.

But this little dog went on to accompany American soldiers through the horrors of World War II, surviving air raids, combat missions and harsh conditions.

Her most remarkable mission came when soldiers needed to pass a communication cable through a narrow pipe that was impossible for a man to enter.

Smoky could fit.

She crawled through the tiny passage and helped get the cable through—doing something that even the soldiers couldn’t do themselves.

But Smoky wasn’t only a war hero.

She also brought comfort to wounded soldiers in military hospitals, becoming one of the earliest documented therapy dogs.

❤️ Her size was tiny. Her courage was enormous.

Sometimes, you don’t need to be big to make a BIG difference.

🐕 Smoky — proof that heroes come in all sizes.
