My girls have a 🔥social life! And atleast once a day i ensure they walk out the house and have new experiences with (mostly) dogs around the locality..
Interacting with other dogs, specially indies who live independently has taught them about boundaries very very quickly because indies don’t tolerate bu****it

It’s also taught me so much about dogs body language, what builds tension in dogs, how they express it towards other dogs/release it through their own bodies and how they learn to coexist/play
And it’s given me a whole world of joy to explore as i watch my dogs learn and make new friends:)

PS- yes they are both vaccinated and given the necessary tick prevention treatment.

When using a shared space in the community, it’s extremely important for your dog to know what is expected out of them..
A few times of practising with them without anyone else around followed by a few times of practising with dog frjendly people I’m the lift sets them up for long term success :)

Always keep an eye on your dogs body language in a lift and keep talking to them and guiding them on what to do..
Keep rewards handy until you’re sure of their behaviour!

Your dog can become the most loved in your community with just a few simple rules that you follow!
I’ve seen people who are scared of dogs immediately relax around dogs I’m handling when I let them know the dog will sit..
Or when they see the dog is focused on me and not them..

Resource guarding resolved through building trust- because using aversive methods is just not how i do things!
Last year i worked with this beautiful Golden Retriever- Simba on his severe resource guarding!

After i spent a few sessions understanding his temperament and bonding with him, we started working on the problem behaviour.
I knew he loves my playful and gentle tone and responds well when he has some freedom to act out during sessions..
Few sessions in, my boy happily let me take napkins out of his hands :)

Love it when clients ask me to teach their dogs new stuff like this🙃
Cause now me and the dog- both get to learn😎

Churros mother wants to take him on bike rides for short distances.. so after discussing some safety concerns and setting up the necessary rules, i started teaching him how to sit calmly on the bike while I’m riding!
