Oberoi, Founder Chairman of The Oberoi Group recognised that the key to his philosophy of hotel keeping would be carefully selected and groomed managers who shared his obsession for guest satisfaction. In order to achieve this objective, The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development was established in 1966 as an institution of learning, where young people could be groomed through a combination of

academic instruction and professional experience. The two year Post Graduate Management Programme is a testament of The Oberoi Group’s commitment to selecting and training the best talent to be the next torch bearers of the organisation’s legacy. The focus is not merely on developing the technical competence of associates. Associates are provided learning on general management including sales, marketing and finance. In addition, the curriculum develops their personal attributes, leadership style and above all inculcates in them the service values that ensure that we continually surpass our guests’ expectations. The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development has evolved to lead training and development interventions across all levels in the organization. The Systematic Training and Education Programme (STEP) is now the most coveted Undergraduate Programme for high school graduates taking their first steps in the hospitality industry. In addition, the Supervisory Development Programme and the Executive Development Programme are designed to equip hotel employees with the necessary competencies and skills to take on higher positions of responsibility within the organization. Moreover, since most of the hotel general managers, senior executives and faculty are graduates of The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, there is a natural willingness to mentor, develop and facilitate learning for the next generation of hoteliers within The Oberoi Group.

Chef Giancarlo Morelli has been conferred the title of Commendatore della Repubblica Italiana, one of Italy’s highest civilian honours, recognising his outstanding contributions to gastronomy and Italian culture.

Associates stepped into the world of Levantine cuisine through a kitchen simulation focused on precision, teamwork and the ability to perform under pressure.

From mezze preparation and breads to grills and plating, the experience challenged Associates to adapt to the pace and coordination of a live kitchen environment while gaining a deeper understanding of the cuisine’s flavours and techniques.

The simulation concluded with a debrief by Chef Soumya Goswami and faculty, where Associates reflected on their learnings, ex*****on and overall experience.

OCLD alumni Chef Vikrant Arora, Senior Sous Chef at The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace, Khajuraho and Chef Veeram Sukhwal, Senior Sous Chef at The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur, have been selected by the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA) as national candidates for the Bocuse d’Or National Selection India.

Recognised as one of the world’s most prestigious culinary competitions, the Bocuse d’Or celebrates exceptional craftsmanship, creativity and precision. This achievement reflects years of dedication, perseverance and a commitment to culinary excellence.

As they take this important step on their journey towards the opportunity to represent India at the Bocuse d’Or in Lyon, France, in 2027, we wish them every success in the challenges ahead.

When the founders of Sand by Shirin travelled to Mumbai for the launch of their new store at Jio World Drive, the team was entrusted with curating canapés and catering for the special occasion.

Through thoughtful engagement, personalized experiences and attention to detail, Ms. Vidushi Shrivastav, Chef Anushka Venugopal and the team demonstrated how hospitality goes beyond service to create lasting relationships and memorable experiences.

With over three decades in luxury hospitality, he has helped shape large-scale food and beverage concepts across India, Macau and the Middle East, working alongside some of the world’s most celebrated Michelin-starred chefs.
