A veterinary facility was found to be engaging in deeply unethical and exploitative practices, including the illegal extraction and sale of canine blood, treating stray dogs as involuntary blood sources.

Intervention by Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi ji led to immediate action, and the establishment has since been shut down.

This case highlights the urgent need for stringent regulatory oversight, strict ethical compliance, and greater transparency within veterinary services.

However, this must not remain an isolated instance. For every violation that is exposed, there may be several others operating without scrutiny, unreported, uninspected, and continuing behind closed doors.

Be vigilant. Be vocal. Ask questions. Demand accountability from veterinary establishments and local authorities alike.

Community dogs are not blood banks. Veterinary care cannot, and must not, come at the cost of cruelty.

Compassion isn’t optional on campus. It’s a system that must exist.

An Animal Welfare Society isn’t just a group, it’s accountability, structure, and protection for every animal that shares that space.

No gaps. No excuses. Just care that works.

Your dog trusts you. Don’t break that trust at the grooming table.

Too many “accidents.” Too much negligence. Too many stories that should never have happened.

Not every grooming centre deserves your trust—and too often, injuries are brushed off while accountability is avoided and red flags are ignored.

Grooming isn’t a drop-off errand.
Stay. Watch. Ask questions.

While many groomers do their job with care, there are still establishments where rushed handling, poor practices, and lack of accountability put animals at risk, and that cannot be normalised.

Listen closely to the absolute measures you should take when visiting a grooming centre—because prevention matters.

Every grooming space owes animals safe, patient, and transparent care. No excuses. No cover-ups.

A clean coat should never come at the cost of stress, injury, or fear.

A timely intervention stopped the illegal transport of 170 rare parrots—another stark reminder of how widespread and organised wildlife trafficking continues to be.

We sincerely thank the Forest Department and Baghpat Police for their swift and decisive action. Because of their response, 170 lives were saved from suffering and exploitation.

This trade survives because of demand. As long as birds are bought, sold, and kept confined, these networks will continue to thrive. We must know better—and do better.

Birds are meant to fly, not to be caged. Their freedom is not ours to take.

As per UGC guidelines, colleges are required to establish mechanisms like Animal Welfare Societies (AWS) to ensure structured care, awareness, and accountability for animals on campus.

An active AWS means:
• Injured animals are rescued and treated
• Feeding and health are responsibly monitored
• Students learn about animal protection laws
• Cruelty can be reported and addressed without fear

This isn’t optional compassion. It’s institutional responsibility.

No confusion. No neglect. Just structured care.

If your college doesn’t have one yet, ask your faculty, raise it with your administration, get it registered.

The future is safest in compassionate hands.

Over 50,000 fraudulent veterinary cases are reported, each one a silent act of cruelty hiding behind negligence.

Animals cannot speak. But we can.

Many non-veterinarians are misrepresenting themselves as qualified professionals, putting innocent lives at risk. As citizens, we must stay alert, question malpractice, and speak up against such inhuman behavior. Accountability begins with awareness, and action.

Don’t stay silent, take action.

ADOPTION ALERT ‼️

She lost her sister, but not her hope.

Meet Daisy.
Cute, gentle, loving, and still waiting for a home to call her own.

She’s been through more than most, yet all she wants is someone to love.

Be her second chance. ♥️

Daisy is 3 months old. She is dewormed & vaccinated. A total sweetheart, a little goofy in the most endearing way, and extremely smart, with the prettiest amber eyes. She sleeps through the night, is friendly with other dogs, and is learning commands fast.

She is currently in Gurugram, Haryana. We will bear the cost of her spaying when she turns 6 months old.

If you feel a connection reading this, and have been thinking about adopting, really thinking, then look at her again. Think twice. She could be the one you’ve been looking for.

📩 Please message +91 9814081631 to adopt, or share to help her find a home.

KNOW YOUR LAWS

Today’s issue:
What legal remedies are available in cases of mob harassment, whether physical or online, against those feeding community animals?

Any form of mob intimidation, threats, coordinated harassment, or online targeting is actionable under law.

Feeding community animals is a legally recognised activity, and no individual or group can take the law into their own hands.

In this episode, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi explains the legal remedies available and how to seek protection in such situations.

Have a situation you want clarity on? Send us your question.

Save. Share to aware.
