🩸 Tick Fever Awareness in Dogs
Epistaxis (nose bleeding) should never be ignored. 🐾
This 4-year-old GSD presented with epistaxis. CBC showed:
• WBC — within normal limits
• Hb — 14.8 g/dL
• Platelets — 84,000/µL (low)
Tick-borne diseases can cause thrombocytopenia (low platelets) and may present with bleeding signs, even when other CBC parameters appear normal.
🕷️ Regular tick prevention can save lives.
Check your pet regularly for ticks, especially after outdoor exposure, and seek veterinary attention if you notice nose bleeding, unusual bruising, weakness, fever, or lethargy.
Don’t wait for symptoms to become severe. Prevention + early diagnosis = better outcomes. ❤️🐶
