Dog parents, look at your dog’s food bowl right now. 👀
Ideally, your dog should be able to eat in a comfortable, natural posture, without having to excessively stretch their neck downward or reach awkwardly upward. The goal is to keep their spine and neck in a relatively neutral, comfortable position while they eat.
A bowl that’s too low may make your dog bend their neck and body more than necessary, while one that’s too high can also create an unnatural eating posture.
So instead of choosing a raised bowl just because it looks fancy, consider your dog’s size, body structure, age, mobility and individual needs.
📌 Quick check:Watch your dog eat from the side. Their feeding setup should allow them to reach their food comfortably without looking excessively hunched, stretched or awkward.
And remember: there isn’t one universal bowl height that works for every dog. If your dog has arthritis, mobility problems, megaesophagus, or another medical condition, ask your veterinarian about the most appropriate feeding position.
Because sometimes, better dog care starts with something as simple as checking the height of their bowl. 🐶❤️
