Sagroli is becoming a hub for high-quality animal welfare! We are thrilled to share the results of two major training initiatives in partnership with the District Animal Husbandry Department and the incredible Dharma Donkey Sanctuary.

Hoof Care Masters: 30 selected 'Ashwamitras' (Friends of Equines) completed an intensive eight-week program focused on crucial hoof care, learning how to safely clean, trim, and maintain the natural shape of the hooves every 6-8 weeks. They now have the skills and kits to prevent common mobility issues.

Wider Impact: Separately, over 100 Assistant Livestock Officers and Supervisors received specialized training on overall equine health management, including vaccination, treatment of colic, and the legal aspects of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

This commitment means safer handling, better medical treatment, and stronger animal welfare laws in our region! Huge thanks to Dr. Nihal Mulla and all the experts who guided these sessions.

पशुसंवर्धन विभागाच्या सहकार्याने आणि धर्म डोंकी सॅन्युअरीच्या (Dharma Donkey Sanctuary) पुढाकाराने साक्री (Sagroli) येथे दोन महत्त्वपूर्ण प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम नुकतेच पार पडले.

खूरसफाईचे प्रशिक्षण: परिसरातील ३० निवडक 'अश्वमित्रांनी' आठ आठवड्यांचे विशेष खूर व्यवस्थापन प्रशिक्षण पूर्ण केले. त्यांना नियमित (दर ६ ते ८ आठवड्यांनी) खूरसफाई, नैसर्गिक आहार आणि योग्य हाताळणीचे मार्गदर्शन मिळाले, तसेच किटचे वाटप करण्यात आले.

विस्तृत आरोग्य प्रशिक्षण: याशिवाय, १०० हून अधिक पशुधन विकास अधिकारी आणि पर्यवेक्षकांसाठी गाढव व खेचरांच्या उपचारावर विशेष मार्गदर्शन सत्र आयोजित करण्यात आले. यामध्ये लसीकरण, जंतनिर्मूलन, पोटशूळ (Colic) यांसारख्या गंभीर आजारांवरील उपचार आणि प्राणी क्लेश प्रतिबंधक कायद्याची माहिती देण्यात आली.

या प्रशिक्षणांमुळे प्राण्यांची सुरक्षितता, योग्य वैद्यकीय उपचार आणि उत्तम व्यवस्थापन आता अधिक प्रभावीपणे होईल! डॉ. निहाल मुल्ला आणि सर्व तज्ञांचे विशेष आभार.

Government Recognizes Donkey & Mule Healthcare — A Major Victory for ‘Dharma Donkey Sanctuary’!”
Official Approval Granted for Their Purchase & Sale

A historic step has been taken for the healthcare of donkeys and mules—hard-working yet long-neglected animals. Thanks to the consistent efforts of Dharma Donkey Sanctuary, the Maharashtra Department of Animal Husbandry has issued an order mandating regular vaccination, health checkups, and treatment for these animals, along with formalizing their purchase and sale.

For the past one and a half years, Dharma Donkey Sanctuary, Sagroli (Biloli Taluka), in collaboration with FIAPO (Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organizations) and AIF (Animal India Foundation), has been working for the welfare of nearly 2,000 donkeys used in brick kilns in Parli and Ambajogai (Beed district) and for sand and construction transport in the Sagroli region. The initiative included owner awareness, training for livestock development officers and assistants, and establishing regular linkage between donkey owners and government veterinary services.

Due to persistent follow-up by the organisation, the Commissioner of Animal Husbandry has now directed all district Deputy Commissioners to ensure mandatory TT vaccination twice a year, deworming, and essential treatment for donkeys and mules. Instructions have also been issued to provide official receipts and certificates for their lawful purchase and sale. This is a milestone not only for donkey owners but for the entire animal welfare sector, ensuring healthier and happier donkeys. The organisation has expressed heartfelt gratitude to all supporters, partner institutions, and government authorities.

To secure recognition of donkeys within government veterinary services and policies—similar to other livestock—the organisation had appealed to Hon. Minister Pankaja Tai Munde, Secretary Dr. Ramaswami N., and Commissioner Dr. Praveenkumar Deore. Their positive response made this achievement possible. The organisation now commits to ensuring proper implementation of the newly issued order.

More than a hundred donkeys in Kinwat, District Nanded, were fitted with head collars. These head collars will make it easier to handle the donkeys. Earlier, people had to catch or handle the donkeys by pulling their ears, which caused them pain and discomfort. Now, with the use of head collars, the donkeys can be handled properly and without causing them any harm.

👉 बैठकीत पशुसंवर्धन अधिकारी डॉ. नितीन कोकले यांनी गाढवांमध्ये होणारे आजार, त्यांची लक्षणे व उपचार याची माहिती दिली.
👉 गाढवांसाठी शासकीय दवाखान्यात मोफत औषधे व उपचार उपलब्ध असल्याचे सांगून, सर्व पशुपालकांनी या सेवांचा लाभ घ्यावा, असे त्यांनी आवाहन केले.
👉 "धर्मा डॉंकी सेंच्युअरी"चे विश्वस्त अभिजीत महाजन यांनी गाढवांच्या कष्टाचे भान ठेवून संस्थेतर्फे राबविल्या जाणाऱ्या उपक्रमांची माहिती दिली.
✅ बैठकीनंतर गाढवपालकांना जंतनाशक औषधे वाटप करण्यात आली.

🐴 किनवटमध्ये गाढव-खेचर आरोग्य तपासणी व संरक्षणासाठी ठोस पावले!

सगरोळी (ता. बिलोली जि. नांदेड) येथील "धर्मा डॉंकी सँचुअरी" च्या पुढाकाराने दि. ८ ऑगस्ट रोजी पशुसंवर्धन विभाग व नगरपरिषद, किनवट यांच्या सहकार्याने किनवट व गोकुंदा परिसरात ५० पेक्षा अधिक गाढव व खेचरांची तपासणी, लसीकरण, डी-वॉर्मिंग व औषधोपचार करण्यात आले.

या उपक्रमाचा उद्देश —
🛑 रस्त्यावर भटकणाऱ्या प्राण्यांमुळे होणारे अपघात टाळणे
🛑 अश्ववर्गीय प्राण्यांचे आरोग्य जपणे

बैठकीत महत्त्वाचे ठराव:
✔ अश्ववर्गीय प्राण्यांच्या संरक्षणासाठी असलेले कायदे प्रभावीपणे राबवणे
✔ वृद्ध, अपंग, बेवारस किंवा कामासाठी अयोग्य प्राण्यांना सगरोळी येथे कायमस्वरूपी आश्रय
✔ वर्षातून ३ आरोग्य शिबिरांचे आयोजन

या निर्णयामुळे अपघातांचे प्रमाण कमी होईल, रस्त्यावर भटकणारे प्राणी कमी होतील व पशुपालकांचा खर्चही घटेल.

🙏 या उपक्रमात पशुसंवर्धन विभागाचे अधिकारी, नगरपरिषदेचे प्रतिनिधी, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ते व पशुपालक यांचा उत्स्फूर्त सहभाग होता.

"गाढव" हा धर्माशी निगडीत व देखणा नसल्याने दुर्लक्षित; मेघना कावली : सगरोळी येथे "धर्मा डॉंकी सँच्यूअरी" व FIAPO संस्थेच्या विद्यमाने "कार्यरत अश्ववर्गीय प्राण्यांमधील आरोग्य समस्या व त्यांचे व्यवस्थापन: व्यावहारिक मार्गदर्शन"प्रशिक्षण कार्याक्रमाचे आयोजन

पशूंमधील आजार ओळखून उपचार करावे लागतात, हे अवघड काम आहे. इतर प्राण्यांपेक्षा गाढवांना अधिक कष्ट असून देखील हाल सहन करावे लागतात. कदाचित गाढव कुठल्याही धर्माशी निगडीत अथवा देखणा नसल्याने दुर्लक्षित असावा असे जिल्हा परिषदेच्या मुख्यकार्यकारी अधिकारी मेघना कावली म्हणाल्या. मंगळवार (ता.१५) रोजी सगरोळी (ता.बिलोली) येथे "धर्मा डॉंकी सँच्यूअरी" या संस्थेने नांदेड जिल्ह्यातील पशुधन विकास अधिकाऱ्यांसाठी फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिअन अॅनिमल प्रोटेक्शन ऑर्गनायझेशन्स, नवी दिल्ली यांच्या सहकार्याने "कार्यरत अश्ववर्गीय प्राण्यांमधील आरोग्य समस्या व त्यांचे व्यवस्थापन: व्यावहारिक मार्गदर्शन". प्रशिक्षण कार्याक्रमाचे आयोजन केले होते. कार्यशाळेच्या उद्घाटनप्रसंगी त्या बोलत होत्या. यावेळी व्यासपीठावर संस्थेचे अध्यक्ष प्रमोद देशमुख, विश्वस्त संजीव सगरोळीकर, माफसूचे सेवा निवृत्त, संशोधन संचालक डॉ. अनिल भिकाने, पशुसंवर्धन व दुग्धव्यवसाय विभागाचे प्रादेशिक सहआयुक्त डॉ. नाना सोनावणे, जिल्हा उपायुक्त डॉ. राजकुमार पडिले, निवृत्त जिल्हा पशुसंवर्धन अधिकारी डॉ. भूपेंद्र बोधनकर, डॉ. दिनेश मोहिते, शिक्षणाधिकारी माधव सलगर आदींची उपस्थिती होती.
संस्थेचे विश्वस्त सगरोळीकर यांनी, संस्थेची सुरुवात व उद्देश स्पष्ट केला. डॉ. पडिले यांनी जिल्ह्यात रेती वाहतुकीसाठी गाढवांचा मोठ्या प्रमाणावर वापर होत असल्याने संस्थेचे कार्य अत्यंत गरजेचे असल्याचे सांगितले. डॉ. सोनावणे यांनी माळेगाव यात्रेत गाढवांसाठी विशेष सुविधा सुरू करण्याचे आश्वासन दिले व संस्थेस शासनाच्या योजनांमध्ये सहभागी होण्याचे आवाहन केले. डॉ. दिनेश मोहिते व डॉ. निहाल मुल्ला यांनी गाढवांच्या आजार व उपचार याबाबत प्रात्यक्षिकासह मार्गदर्शन केले. सूत्रसंचालन डॉ. प्रवीणकुमार घुले यांनी केले.

निवृत्तीबद्दल डॉ. अनिल भिकाने व डॉ. भूपेंद्र बोधनकर यांचा सत्कार
डॉ. भिकाने यांनी, सत्कारास उत्तर देताना, माझा सत्कार व प्रशिक्षणासाठी जिल्ह्यातील १०० पशुवैद्यकांची उपस्थिती हा दुग्ध शर्करा योग आहे. पशु आधारित व्यवसाय हा देशाच्या अर्थ व्यवस्थेचा कणा आहे. दूध, अंडी, मांस उत्पादनाचा मोठा वेग असून, यामध्ये पशुसंवर्धन विभागाचे मोठे योगदान आहे. मुक्या जनावरांसाठी कार्यरत राहावं कारण पशुवैद्यकांना शेतकरी दैवत मानतात असे म्हणाले.

नांदेड जिल्ह्यात प्राणी कल्याणासाठी एसपीसीए समिती लवकरच सक्रीय! : समिती सदस्य म्हणून प्राणी मित्रांना अर्ज करण्याचे आवाहन

प्रत्येक जिल्ह्यात कार्यरत असलेल्या जिल्हा प्राणीक्लेश प्रतिबंधक समिती (District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - SPCA) चा मुख्य उद्देश म्हणजे प्राण्यांवरील अत्याचारांना प्रतिबंध घालणे, त्यांच्या हक्कांचे रक्षण करणे आणि त्यांच्या कल्याणासाठी प्रयत्न करणे. या समितीचे पदसिद्ध अध्यक्ष मा. जिल्हाधिकारी असतात, तर सचिव म्हणून जिल्हा पशुसंवर्धन विभागाचे उपायुक्त कार्यरत असतात.

नांदेड जिल्ह्यातही ही समिती प्रभावीपणे कार्यान्वित व्हावी, या उद्देशाने धर्मा डॉंकी सेंच्युअरी, सगरोळी या संस्थेच्या प्रतिनिधींनी नुकतीच मा. जिल्हाधिकारी राहुल कर्डिले यांची भेट घेतली. या बैठकीत प्राणी कल्याणाच्या दृष्टीने धोरणात्मक उपायांची चर्चा झाली. मा. जिल्हाधिकारी यांनी जिल्हा पशुसंवर्धन विभागाच्या उपायुक्तांना तात्काळ कार्यवाही करण्याचे स्पष्ट निर्देश दिले असून, समितीची स्थापना करून तिच्या नियमित बैठका आणि निर्णय प्रक्रिया सुनिश्चित करण्याचा आदेश दिला आहे.

या अनुषंगाने उपायुक्त पशुसंवर्धन यांनी धर्मा डॉंकी सेंच्युअरीला जिल्हा एसपीसीए समितीवर अशासकीय सदस्य म्हणून समाविष्ट होण्यासाठी अर्ज सादर करण्याचे आवाहन केले आहे. या संदर्भात अधिकृत प्रेस नोटही जारी करण्यात आली आहे. त्यानुसार जिल्हास्तरीय प्राणी क्लेष प्रतिबंधक समिती, नांदेड यावर काम करण्यासाठी इच्छुक व्यक्तींनी दि. ३० जून पर्यंत विहित नमुन्यात जिल्हा पशुसंवर्धन उप आयुक्त कार्यालय, देगलूर नाका, नांदेड येथे जावून अर्ज करावा.

धर्मा डॉंकी सेंच्युअरीच्या या पुढाकारामुळे नांदेड जिल्ह्यात एक सक्षम आणि कार्यक्षम एसपीसीए समिती स्थापन होण्याची दिशा स्पष्ट झाली आहे. भविष्यात जिल्ह्यातील प्राणी हक्क संरक्षण आणि कल्याणासाठी ही समिती ठोस पावले उचलणार, अशी अपेक्षा व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे.
