Your dog’s p**p is basically a daily health report. Most dog parents just aren’t reading it. 💩
Colour, consistency, mucus, frequency and even how easily it’s picked up can offer clues about hydration, digestion, food tolerance and gut irritation.
A healthy p**p is usually:
🤎 Chocolate brown
✔️ Firm but not hard
💧 Slightly moist
🪵 Formed and easy to pick up
✨ Leaves little residue
One unusual p**p is not always a reason to panic. Look for patterns and ask:
What changed in their food?
Did they try a new treat?
Have they been stressed?
Is mucus, blood or straining recurring?
Black or tarry stool, significant blood, weakness, repeated vomiting or persistent diarrhoea need veterinary attention.
