After Arnab’s cats fell ill following a grooming experience in his hometown, Kolkata, he no longer felt comfortable taking chances with their care.

So he moved back to Bengaluru.

Here, he found Curious Cat Co × Earthy Paws, and a very different way of grooming.

We built our space in Indiranagar keeping these questions in mind.

Our studio is open in spirit and in design. You can watch the process on CCTV. You can sit on our olive couch, have a glass of water, pick up a cat book, and simply breathe. The people handling your cats are cat people too. We understand the pauses, the moods, the quiet negotiations. Grooming is done softly, with attention and without rush.

There’s a little supermarket attached to a Shell petrol pump in Bengaluru.

And if you ask the staff, they’ll tell you it’s run by Sibi.

She came here one day and never really left. Somewhere along the way, this became her home, and the people here became her people. She inspects the shelves, greets customers, supervises deliveries and, by all accounts, takes her role as unofficial manager quite seriously.

No one planned for any of this.

But perhaps that’s the quiet magic of community cats. They ask for very little, and somehow leave a place gentler than they found it.

(And after a brief stay at the vet’s, we’re very glad to report that the manager is back at work.)

A slow feeder is only half the story.

The other half is the pair of hands preparing the meal.
