🌿 Zoo Visit, Tree Plantation & Wild Animal Adoption Drive 🐾

On 6th October 2025, as part of Wildlife Week 2025, school students visited Ludhiana Zoo for a day filled with learning and action for nature. Students took part in a Tree Plantation Drive and explored the zoo to learn about wildlife and were introduced to the Wild Animal Adoption Scheme encouraging them to take part in caring for and protecting zoo animals.

The event inspired young minds to connect with nature and contribute to wildlife conservation. 🌳🦜

🌿 Nature Walk at Ludhiana Zoo 🐾

As part of Wildlife Week 2025, a Nature Walk was organized on 4th October in collaboration with Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana.

Students explored the zoo’s rich biodiversity, observed wildlife closely and learned about the importance of conservation. The walk encouraged young nature lovers to connect with the environment and appreciate the beauty of our natural heritage. 🌳🦜

Wildlife Week Celebration at Ludhiana Zoo 🐾

Ludhiana Zoo celebrated Wildlife Week 2025 with great enthusiasm on 8th October 2025. School students actively took part in Drawing and Quiz Competitions, showcasing their creativity and knowledge about wildlife conservation.

Winners were awarded prizes and appreciation certificates, while all participants received participation certificates for their efforts. The event highlighted the importance of protecting our wildlife and inspired young minds to care for nature. 🌿🦜

Painting Competition and Quiz Competition on the theme “Wildlife Conservation through Co-existence” On the final day of Wildlife Week-2024 celebrations, Ludhiana Zoo recently organized a Drawing Competition for middle and senior category students and a Quiz Competition for senior category students centered around the theme “Wildlife Conservation through Co-existence.”
The drawing competition encouraged young artists to express their understanding of wildlife conservation, highlighting the beauty of nature and the importance of preserving wildlife habitats. Students showcased their creativity and awareness of environmental issues through their artwork.
The quiz competition exclusive to senior students, tested their knowledge about wildlife conservation, ecosystems and the critical role humans play in protecting the environment. This engaging event aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the significance of co-existing with wildlife and promote responsible behaviors toward nature.
Winners of the both competitions were awarded trophies and a certificate of appreciation was given to each participant by the zoo administration in recognition of their outstanding efforts and creativity.

Ludhiana Zoo sponsored a workshop titled "Transforming Waste into Wildlife Art" in co-ordination with Khalsa College for Women, Ghumar Mandi, Ludhiana and in collaboration with Switch for Change, NGO. This initiative aims to educate students on how to creatively recycle dry waste into animal sculptures, promoting both artistic expression and environmental awareness. This partnership underscores the importance of community engagement in conservation efforts.
Participants have shown great enthusiasm in learning various recycling techniques focused on creating art from wooden scraps, plastic bottles, old tyres, and bottle caps. The completed artworks from the workshop are donated to Ludhiana Zoo, enhancing the zoo's exhibits and contributing to the promotion of wildlife conservation in the community.
