🐱 Why is your cat pressing its head against the wall?
If your cat repeatedly presses its head against a wall, floor, or other object for a prolonged time, don’t mistake it for normal resting behaviour. It can be a sign of an underlying neurological problem and needs veterinary attention.
🧠 Possible causes may include: • Brain or neurological disorders
• Brain inflammation or infection
• Head injury or trauma
• Toxin exposure
• Metabolic problems, such as hepatic encephalopathy
• Severe high blood pressure
⚠️ Other warning signs to watch for: • Seizures
• Circling or confusion
• Vision changes
• Loss of balance
• Unusual behaviour
🩺 What should you do?
If you notice persistent head pressing, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. Your vet may recommend a neurological examination, blood tests, blood-pressure measurement and, when needed, advanced imaging.
❤️ Early evaluation can help identify the underlying cause and guide proper treatment.
