🚨 FELINE CALICIVIRUS (FCV) ALERT — JAMNAGAR 🐱⚠️ Make sure your cat is vaccinated against FELINE CALCIVIRUS
We are currently seeing multiple cats showing signs suggestive of Feline Calicivirus (FCV) infection in Jamnagar. Cat parents are advised to stay alert, especially if their cat has contact with other cats.
The first clinical sign we have seen is pus discharge in ear..
Common signs to watch for:
🐾 Fever / feeling unusually hot
👄 Mouth and tongue ulcers
💧 Excessive drooling
😿 Pain or difficulty while eating
🍽️ Loss of appetite or refusing food
🤧 Sneezing and nasal discharge
👁️ Eye discharge
😴 Weakness and lethargy
🐾 Sometimes limping or painful joints
⚠️ FCV is highly contagious between cats. It can spread through saliva, nasal/eye discharge and contaminated hands, bowls, bedding and other objects.
If your cat develops mouth ulcers, fever or suddenly stops eating, please consult a veterinarian promptly. Do not wait for the condition to become severe.
Keep sick cats separate from other cats, and maintain strict hygiene around food bowls, litter trays and handling.
❤️ Early recognition + supportive treatment can make a big difference.
