𝐔𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐨 𝐨𝐫 𝐔𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞
📍It is a bacterial dermatitis characterized by development of small pustules on the skin of the udder and teats.
📍Staphylococci usually can be isolated from the pustules.
📍Treatment
📌Antibiotics for 5 to 7 days ( Penicillin group)
📌NSAIDS for 3 to 5 days
📌Clipping hair from the affected area followed by application of an antiseptic solution (Povidine iodine)

📌𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐰🐂
📍Case: A Jersey cow recently parturited was presented with history of injury by neighbouring cow leading to laceration of teat.
📍Clinical finding:
✔Full thickness vertical laceration leading to formation of teat fistula with leakage of milk.
📍Surgical procedure:
1.Ring block was given at the base of teat with Lignocaine 2%
2.Wound freshened n copiously washed with antiseptic solution.
3.Insertion of baby feeding tube no 8 to keep patency of the teat canal.
4.The wound closed in 3 layers (mucosa - submucosa, muscles, skin) using Vicryl 3-0.
5.ASD done with bandaging of the wound keeping the baby feeding tube in situ.
📌Follow up
✔Broad spectrum antibiotic
✔NSAIDs
✔Multivitamins

📌“𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐮𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐅𝐂𝐁 𝐜𝐨𝐰”
📌A recently parturited cow injured her teat while lying down and getting up leading to teat end injury and obstruction.
📌Management:
📍Surgical debridement of the wound
📍Removal of granulomatous mass from teat canal using teat tumour extractor.
📍Fixation of baby feeding tube
📍Broad spectrum antibiotic, NSAIDS, local application of povidone iodine.
📌Complications:
📍Mastitis ( Encountered by use of antibiotics)
📍Failure of retention of baby feeding tube ( Replaced the baby feeding tube by foley’s catheter)
📌Result: Teat end wound healed at day 30.

“Management of teat obstruction in HFCB Cow due to teat end injury”
✅This cow had history of teat end injury due to self trauma which lead to the obstruction at its teat end.
✅After proper restraining and under aseptic conditions the growth was removed using teat tumour extractor followed by insertion and fixing of baby feeding tube to keep teat canal patent.
✅Follow up treatment continued with broad spectrum antibiotic and NSAIDS.

𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐝𝐨𝐠
➡️Surgical technique: Mammectomy was performed under GA.
📌Mammectomy is a removal of a single mammary gland, including the ni**le and skin overlying the gland.
📌It is a good choice when the mammary mass is directly under the ni**le or is fixed to the overlying skin.
📌It should not be used for masses fixed to the underlying re**us fascia.
📌In this case the mammary tissue was superficial to the ventral fascia of the re**us muscle and typically has a layer of fat directly under the glands.
➡️Post op : Fluid therapy, broad spectrum antibiotics, Nsaids and multivitamins.
➡️Surgical pearl : During caudal dissection, ligate the caudal superficial epigastric artery and vein to prevent excessive bleeding.

🐶𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐨𝐠🐶
📌A non descript dog was presented with history of automobile accident since 4 days with development of swelling around left side of the chest.
📌Clinical examination revealed that the swelling was non painful, soft and fluctuating with presence of fluid thrill.
📌Needle aspiration revealed blood tinged fluid , thus found to be a Hematoma.
📌Management: The swelling was lenced at the dependent part with removal of approx. 4 to 5 lts of blood tinged fluid and fibrin clots. The cavity was thoroughly flushed with antiseptic solution followed by pressure bandage.
📌The patient was stabilised with fluid therapy, broad spectrum antibiotic,NSAIDS and multivitamins.
📌The patient recovered uneventfully and relocated on 5th day.

➡️Case : A stray dog was presented with a pr*****ed mass since long.
Clinical examination revealed that the mass was soiled, edematous, lacerated and necrotic.
➡️Treatment :
Hysterectomy was performed under GA after stabilisation of the patient.
➡️Result: Patient recovered uneventfully and relocated at her place🐶.

🎗Case : Fracture of left metacarpal (complete, closed ,midshaft & transverse fracture) in a Horse.
🎗Manegement: Full limb PVC splint POP cast was applied under sedation.
🎗Important steps:
✔ Sedation with Xylazine
✔ Traction and counter traction for proper alignment of the proximal and distal frature ends
✔ Cotton padding followed by bandaging
✔ Application of PVC splints
✔Application of POP cast.
✔NSAIDs and multivitamins for 3 to 5 days.

✔Case: This case was presented with history of sudden redness, painful left eye. The owner has applied sugar solution to it for 3 days as remedy but the eye became bad to worse. There was no history of any trauma or injury to it.
✔Clinical examination revealed
➡️Normal body parameters
➡️Epiphora
➡️Blephrospasm
➡️Hypopyon cm hypemia
➡️Deep corneal / stromal defect
➡️Corneal edema
✔Treatment
💉Third eye lid flap was performed under AP nerve block and local anesthesia of the third eyelid.
💉Systemic Broad spectrum antibiotic every 72 hours for three ocassions
💉Mydriatic eye drops
💉Autologous serum eye drops
💉Introcular broad spectrum antibiotic
✔Result
💕The flap was removed on 15th day and
Eventually the eye appears clear with a white scar on day 60💕
