The Asswin Project

The Asswin Project The Asswin Project help hard working, injured & neglected Donkey's in India & was born out of one couples passion & love of animals - Jean & Bob Harrison.

To donate click on - https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-bob-jean-harrison The Asswin Project, a UK registered charity (1112882), was founded by Jean and Bob Harrison in 2005 to help equines, mainly hard working, injured, sick and neglected donkey's in and around the outskirts of Delhi, India by providing much needed medical care, advice and care. Street dogs, and any other animal in need, are

also helped - no animal is excluded by this caring couple. Jean and Bob are no strangers to the terrible plight of animals in this region as they have been helping animals here since 1994 improving animal welfare standards. They are a truly inspirational couple, now in their seventies, and live all alone without any amenities or help. Jean and Bob have devoted their whole lives...their time, effort, labour and pensions, to helping these poor animals in the most difficult of circumstances. Each and every day Jean and Bob face the most distressing sights you could possibly imagine. They see animal welfare at its worst and they are there to help, educate and improve the lives of these animals. A typical day will see this couple working a minimum of twelve hours providing emergency help to animals! Jean and Bob work every day of every week and visit numerous construction sites, brick kilns and encampments to give treatment and care to suffering equines and to endeavor to educate their owners, and their families, in methods of how to best care for their animals. As if all this isn't enough they also respond to calls from the community, police and the fire service to help animals that have been involved in road accidents. T.A.P. is affiliated to a local animal shelter/hospital and animals are regularly taken there for long term treatment. Without the funds, however, this programme of animal aid could not continue. struggles for funds and has only a shoestring budget as it relies totally on donations from the public. Every single penny donated goes directly to helping those animals in need. Please help Jean and Bob, who are The Asswin Project, to help even more hard working, injured, sick and neglected donkey's by supporting them. You can do this by joining The Asswin Project Support Group on Facebook and taking part in our many activities which include competitions, online auctions and we even have a shop! Don't close your eyes to this continuing nightmare situation...you can walk away, but the poor donkey's can't! They NEED YOU...thank you so much for your generosity and kindness - it's truly appreciated! http://g.co/maps/n7vk5

Whilst we appreciate that many of our supporters find "graphic" pictures quite disturbing we feel that such picture are necessary to show how awful are some of the cases which we have deal with. Afterall, the world TV news programmes show how humans and animals are maimed and killed by human conflicts , wars , and fires with warnings that viewers may find them disturbing. We regret that we will still need to post graphic pictures but will advise you when we post them.
Thanks again for your continued support.

Today the Asswin Team was informed of a pet dog having been abandoned in the lift shaft of the locked floor of building. The informant told us that the dog was there for past three days. The informant had tried to get the building owners to come and open the locked floor of the building but he was not cooperating. Team Asswin managed to get into the shaft of the locked floor and get him out to safety. The dog is disoriented but should be fine. DM to know more. This is a graphic post. This pup is the only one surviving of its litter after what seems to be either foul play or a terrible accident. He was given immediate treatment and is now resting and not in pain.
Please help The Asswin Project as we face these terrible cases. We need financial support as due Covid and due to a technical issue with our UK bank account, we have had no donations for past few months. Please donate via the clicking on the following link: https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-bob-jean-harrison
