AMCH Puppy | Rescue and Treatment 🐾

As informed by the person who reported him, this puppy had not been eating for the past 5–6 days and had been vomiting a yellowish liquid. Initially, we suspected some kind of internal infection or gastrointestinal issue.

Upon examination, the vet found that he had a very high fever of 105°F, which was brought down to 102.9°F after treatment. He is currently being treated for a suspected gut-related issue, although his exact condition will need to be monitored closely.

While taking him back to his location after the vet visit, he also passed an extremely foul-smelling, dark brown, liquid-like stool, which is another concerning symptom.

He has now been taken to the vet and has been prescribed a 3-day course of antibiotics along with IV treatment and follow-up care.

We sincerely hope the little one responds well to the treatment and starts recovering soon. Please keep him in your prayers. 🤍🐾

Guni has been under Darshana Ba’s foster care for some time now, and she has unfortunately been unwell for the past three days. The exact cause is still not confirmed, but her symptoms appear to indicate a severe gastrointestinal/intestinal infection, with the possibility of parvo also being considered.

She has been taken to the vet regularly for the past three days for treatment and monitoring, and today marked her third consecutive day of treatment. We are hoping for a clearer diagnosis soon and, most importantly, for Guni to start responding positively to the treatment. 🤍

A heartfelt thank you to Gayatri, Suvam, Manash and Akash for your continuous efforts and for making sure she receives the care and treatment she needs every day. And of course, thank you to Darshana Ba for fostering and taking care of Guni through this difficult time.

Please keep Guni in your prayers and send her lots of strength and love. We hope she recovers soon. 🐾❤️

🚨 RESCUE UPDATE | RUNNING GATE, GANDHI NAGAR LINK ROAD

A new case came in from Running Gate, Gandhi Nagar Link Road, where a dog was found in a severely critical condition following a dog-fight attack.

The injuries had been left untreated for some time and had become heavily infested with maggots. The infestation was so extensive that the maggots had spread deep into the wounds, reaching dangerously close to the dog’s chest and heart area. The dog was also severely dehydrated, weak and generally in poor condition.

Our team immediately attended to the dog and started the necessary treatment. The wounds were thoroughly cleansed and dressed, removing as many maggots as possible, and antibiotics were administered to help control the infection and prevent further complications.

The dog is extremely weak and will require close monitoring and continued treatment. A 5-day follow-up course has been advised to ensure the wounds are healing properly and that the infection and maggot infestation do not return.

For now, we are hoping the little one responds well to the treatment and slowly regains strength. ❤️‍🩹

Please keep this brave soul in your thoughts as we continue with the follow-up care. 🐾

🐾 NOTUN GAON CASE UPDATE

You may remember this girl from Notun Gaon, who was rescued by our volunteer Akash after she met with a severe road accident and was found completely unable to move.

She was in tremendous pain, and after examination, the veterinarian confirmed a fractured forelimb and a serious neck injury. She was given immediate treatment to stabilize her and manage the pain, followed by further care and monitoring.

Since then, her journey has been slow, but she has been fighting her way back. ❤️

On 22nd August, our team took her for a check-up, and we were relieved to see some encouraging progress. She is gradually gaining strength in her front limbs, her wound has healed, and her fractured forelimb appears to be healing on its own. She has also recovered from Canine Distemper (CD).

However, her hind limbs still have very little strength, and she is unable to walk on her own. Regular exercises and physiotherapy-like movement are now essential to help her regain strength in her legs.

And through all of this, there is someone who has quietly been doing a huge part of her recovery.

Kaidul Islam da. ❤️

Ever since she was shifted from Anushka's place, Kaidul da has been taking care of her every single day. From giving her medicines on time to cleaning the space around her, maintaining her hygiene, to regularly exercising her weak limbs, he has been there for everything.

Because she cannot walk or manage things on her own, her care requires constant effort, patience and time. And Kaidul da has been giving her exactly that, without ever making it feel like a burden.

He has also been helping us with several other cases whenever needed. People like him are rare, the kind who quietly step in, take responsibility and keep showing up when an animal needs them the most.

Kaidul da, you are truly one gem of a person. ❤️

Thank you for taking such good care of her, for being patient with her recovery, and for standing by her when she needed someone the most.

Her journey isn't over yet. She still has a long way to go, but with care, exercise and people like Kaidul da beside her, we hope to see her take those steps again. 🐾❤️

TUMOUR DOG CASE SURGERY UPDATE

LOCATION: DEVELOPMENT AREA, NEAR RESIDENCE OF SARBANANDA SONOWAL📍

The dog reported in Dibrugarh Animal Welfare Community group from Development area, who was with a large tumour bulging out, underwent surgery on 24th of August and thankfully, the surgery was successful! 🧿🧿🧿

The tumour weighed more than 1.5 kg, making this a challenging procedure that lasted around 2 hours. Before the surgery, Suvam and Akash took the doggo for an initial check-up and discussed the required surgery and post-operative care with the veterinary team. Further treatment will continue as advised by the vets.

Post-operative care has been arranged, and our team will be closely monitoring him with regular follow-ups until his stitches have healed and he is on the road to recovery.

A huge heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ananta Kalita and his team who performed the surgery with immense care, patience and dedication. 🙏🏻

Would also like to thank our volunteering team Ayan, Manash and everyone involved for giving their valuable time, energy and effort throughout this case and staying by the doggo through the entire surgery. Your kindness and commitment mean so much to us. ❤️

We won't be sharing the surgery photographs as they can be quite graphic and may be difficult for some people to see. But trust us when we say, it was a tough one. 🥺

For now, all we ask is that you keep this brave baby in your prayers and send him lots of love for a speedy and complete recovery. 🐾❤️

A surgery this major also comes with considerable medical and post-operative expenses. We have managed the payment for now, but if you wish to contribute towards this case and help us with the expenses, your support would mean a lot. Every little contribution helps us continue caring for them. ❤️🙏🏻

Hit-and-Run case| DTP D**e, Dibrugarh

Another little life left injured on the roadside after a hit-and-run at DTP D**e.

This puppy was found in a critical condition after being hit by a vehicle. He was immediately rescued by Ankush and rushed to the veterinary clinic for treatment. His mouth has been badly injured, leaving him unable to eat properly. He is currently receiving the necessary medical care and will be taken back for a follow-up treatment again today.

We are incredibly grateful that the person who informed us about the puppy has also stepped forward to foster him and take care of him during his recovery. Having someone willing to provide a safe space, food and care makes an enormous difference to an injured street animal.

But this incident also raises a painful question: How many more animals have to suffer because someone was driving too fast or simply didn't stop?

A few seconds of slowing down can save a life.

Street dogs, puppies, cats and other animals cross roads every day. They may suddenly run across, especially in areas where they are accustomed to finding food or shelter. We cannot expect them to understand traffic the way we do.

Please slow down. Stay alert. Watch the roads, especially around crowded and residential areas. And if you accidentally hit an animal, please don't drive away. Stop and seek help.

They may be street animals, but their pain is just as real as ours. 💔

This little one is now fighting to recover. Please keep him in your prayers. ❤️‍🩹🐾

Drive slow. Stay alert. Save a life.

Rescue & Treatment Update 🐾 | Near Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugarh

Yesterday, we received a report about an injured dog near Salt Brook Academy, Old Block, Dibrugarh. Our members Suvam and Akash immediately responded to the situation and rescued him so that he could receive the medical attention he urgently needed.

The dog had a badly injured ear, with a portion of the ear severely damaged. He was taken for veterinary treatment, where the extra/damaged portion of the ear had to be surgically removed. The wound was then properly stitched and dressed.

Considering his weak condition, poor energy levels and lack of appetite, he was provided IV fluids along with necessary medications. Antibiotic injections, antiseptics and other required medicines have also been administered. His treatment will continue with regular follow-ups and antibiotic injections for the next five days, along with wound dressing and monitoring of his overall condition.

During the examination, the doctor also identified a tumour on his chest, which will require further observation and treatment as he stabilises.

Thankfully, he is now in safe hands. ❤️

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Manokhi Aunty and her family, who have stepped forward to foster this dog and are currently taking responsibility for his food, medicines and day-to-day care during his recovery.

We also want to thank everyone who reported his condition and helped us coordinate his rescue and treatment. Every call, every meal, every helping hand and every small act of kindness matters when an animal is struggling to survive.

Please keep this brave boy in your prayers and send him lots of love for a speedy recovery. 🐾❤️‍🩹
