Dear Athena, ❤️

Two years have passed, yet your love still lives so gently in the hearts you touched. You are remembered not only in memories, but also in every act of kindness done in your name. Somewhere beyond the skies, we hope you are running free, chasing butterflies, basking in the sun, and watching over the people who love you endlessly. 🌈🐾

Today, with full hearts, we also want to thank your loving parents, Ron Raj Phukan and Sounaq Phukan, for once again choosing compassion in your memory. Their generous contribution of food, rice, pampers, and essentials for our foster babies means more than words can express. Because of their kindness, so many little souls will sleep with full stomachs and feel a little more loved and cared for. ❤️

RESCUE UPDATE🚨

This dog, who stays near a factory in Nahortoli Estate, was found in an extremely critical condition — severely dehydrated, partially paralysed and unable to stand or eat on his own. 💔

Sourav Mallick, a service person from the factory, noticed his condition and immediately contacted us. He also coordinated with the veterinarian throughout the treatment process to ensure the dog received medical attention on time. 🙏🐾

As the dog was unable to move, the veterinarian visited the location and started treatment there itself. Necessary fluids and medications were administered in an attempt to stabilise his condition. 🩺

Right now, his condition remains serious and uncertain. We can only hope the treatment helps him fight through this.

🚨 RESCUE UPDATE & FUNDRAISER APPEAL 🚨

A heartbreaking case was recently reported from Margherita. A helpless dog with a deep cut around the neck, severely infested with thousands of maggots and extremely weak. 💔

With no proper veterinary facilities in Margherita and no active rescuers available to handle such a critical case, the informers, Bitupan Deori and Aseng Deori, stepped up with immense kindness and humanity and accompanied the dog all the way to Tinsukia for treatment. 🙏🐾

This rescue operation was jointly carried out by Animal Welfare People (AWP) and Stray Animals Rescue and Care (SARC). Since AWP is physically based in Dibrugarh, we took up the responsibility of bearing the treatment and aftercare expenses as much as possible, while Team SARC physically handled the rescue, treatment process and foster care. 🤝❤️

Once brought to Tinsukia, the dog immediately underwent a surgical procedure. After delicately cleaning the infected wound and removing countless maggots, the deep cut was stitched carefully. Saline, antibiotics and antiseptics were administered immediately and the baby was shifted to foster care for recovery. 🩺🐶

A huge thank you to Shayeri Bhattacharjee, member of both AWP and SARC, along with Sohail and Divya from SARC for carefully carrying out the rescue and treatment process. Special mention to Aniket Kar, Co-founder of SARC, who despite being out of station managed everything smoothly. 🌼

We are extremely happy to share that the baby is now on the road to recovery ✨ and even more heartwarming is the fact that the informers themselves have willingly shown interest in adopting her once she heals completely. 🏡❤️

AS A SELF-FUNDED NGO, SERIOUS CASES LIKE THESE BECOME FINANCIALLY DIFFICULT FOR US TO MANAGE ALONE. DONATION DETAILS AND EXPENSE BREAKDOWN ARE MENTIONED IN THE COMMENTS BELOW. 🙏

📌 Expenses for this rescue until date:
• ₹4000 — surgery, blood tests & emergency treatment
• ₹1000/day × 5 days — follow-up treatment
• ₹500+ — medicines
• ₹200/day foster charges for one month

We were reported of this injured puppy from DU who met with an accident. Immediate treatment provided to the puppy for speedy recovery.

Today, the puppy is better and the treatment will continue till the pup heals completely.

📍Chowkidinghee Field Skin Infected Dog ‼️‼️‼️

⭕We have been getting a lot of calls 📱 and messages for this particular Doggy 🐶🐕 from Chowkidinghee Field area. After trying to reach him a lot of times and failing, finally we found him today and carried out his on spot treatment.

✅First shot of ivermectin alongwith antiseptic spray has been administered. The dressing will continue till the wounds heal and ivermectin will be administered weekly.
He is a super friendly doggo and his appetite is fine. If you see him around do feed him.

❌❌❌ DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY MEDICINES AS HIS TREATMENT HAS ALREADY STARTED. ALSO, DON'T TRY TO PAT THE DOG AS MOST OF HIS BODY IS SENSITIVE AND HE MIGHT REACT TO HUMAN TOUCH IF YOU APPROACH SUDDENLY ❌❌❌

🛑🛑🛑 Rescue Update 🛑🛑🛑

We were informed of this case from Naliapool. The informers found this community doggo in a vulnerable state where she could barely stand and was drenched in drain-water. They took her to the District Dispensary the first day and got her initial treatment. ✅

However, the follow up was a little difficult as they were students and didn't have the resources to continue as the dog required. With the help of VFA our team went to the location where she was kept and helped carry out her following treatment.‼️

🛑All the medications were continued, she remains critical and the SADDEST PART? She recently gave birth to 6 babies who just opened their eyes. With a very kind intent our VFA helped in feeding the babies too with a syringe.

The treatment will continue and we are hopeful of her recovery, no matter slow! Keep the young mama and her babies in your prayers! 🌸🐾🐶🐕

🛑🛑🛑 RESCUE UPDATE 🛑🛑🛑

We were informed of this Big Boy suffering from TVT. He is otherwise healthy, eats well but has been bleeding from his genitalia since sometime now and also has some skin issues. 😞🐶

Our team along with Dr. Koustav Saikia carried out his treatment on the spot. The informers were kind enough to help in the entire rescue. 🌸

Lovingly called BURA, he first resisted but later got calmed and let us carry on with his treatment. He received his first chemo along with all other supportivr medications. The law firm of Adv Ivy Chatterjee were the informers and has taken up the responsibility to look after him during his treatment as it's gonna be a long one, they have also sponsored for the treatment. ✨🐾

He's doing well now, pray for his speedy recovery. 💜
