An urgent post for cat parents-
For the past 3-5days we are coming across an increased death rate in cats showing some or all of the following clinical signs-
1. High fever
2. Inappetance
3. Lethargy and inactivity
4. Vomition
5. Salivation/drooling
6. High breathing rate in some cases
7. Seizures
8. Followed by quick death

On blood reports we are coming across liver issues, kidney issues in some and increased WBC count and positive for hemoprotozoa disease like mycoplasma spp.
The most worrisome issue is that the affected cats are not giving us time for treatment. Most cats are dying within 48hours and not giving time to act as most pet parents are starting the treatment after 24-36hours when the cat has stopped eating and showing two or three of the above mentioned clinical signs.
The death is very swift like we generally see in cases of viral diseases but CBC report is not in sync with what we find in case of viral diseases. Similar cases have been reported by many other vets as well and we are awaiting for more blood reports to come to help us reach the conclusion behind the exact reason behind this as the cats are not exhibiting typical hemoprotozoa disease clinical signs not typical viral diseases clinical signs.

**If your cat is showing one or more of the clinical signs as mentioned above kindly contact a vet and start treatment as early as possible as early treatment saves life.

Union Budget 2026 — A New Dawn for Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science & Allied Rural Sectors in India

The Union Budget 2026–27, presented by Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman on 1st February 2026, reflects a strong and strategic vision for inclusive and sustainable growth. At the outset, heartiest congratulations to the Government of India and especially Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for placing animal husbandry, livestock farmers, and veterinarians at the core of rural economic transformation — a clear testimony to their dedication toward rural prosperity, food security, and agricultural resilience.
