No, I don't look like this anymore! This was taken 20 years ago when I was attempting to train mixed breed puppies for assistance dog work. The pups were smart, highly biddable and loved the training. The humans didn't match their enthusiasm though. Everyone who wanted a trained dog wanted a pedigreed one. Eventually, the pups ended up staying with me and the programme to train street dogs shut down.
Many people are convinced that pure breed dogs are trainable and mixed breed dogs are not.
We need to get that idea out of our heads!
