A vet's intuition to handle cases stems from years of training and experience unlike animal care takers, pet parents, rescuers. None of these people can develop a gut on why certain hard choices matter yet, why offlabel use of certain drugs can yield better outcome, how a novel treatment can help a patient etc, Basically vets over time develop something called as ' Divergent Thanking in their own field of expertise
Almost every one today asks silly questions, pushes us for more paper trails, asks for tests without any enquiries regarding an AI answer and why not. Basically Google is replaced by an AI bot for this and people think that's superior somehow
When a vet doubts his/her intuition to handle a certain patient it creates a ripple effect on both ends. It leads to animosity and makes all consults robotic, mechanical and not so healthy
Your vet will use his senses to identify things earlier like a stools with parvo odor, Fruity breath in DKA, Uremic breath in CKD, Wet scalp in certain fungal issues and more and with more defensive medicine these don't matter anymore.
So, trust your vet, have respect over their opinion, Don't argue for administrative errors. Because we would like to treat more and make your pets better than run around pushing papers and avoiding backlash for something that doesn't even help your pet in anyway
