Blue Cross of India is a private and charitable organization, which runs a hospital and rehabilitation centre for injured and unwell stray animals such as dogs, cats, cattle and birds among others. We not only house these animals/birds and care for them, but take them to our heart. Our activities include medical treatment, rehoming, adoption, emergency pickup services and training other NGOs — all since 1964.

Tommy aka Speaker, one of the oldest Labrador dogs at our sanctuary, crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. 🌈🐾

He came to us after the Covid pandemic — skin and bones, weak, sick and struggling to survive. Tommy battled tick fever and many illnesses during his rescue days, but he never gave up.

Over the years, he slowly healed and became one of the most loved souls at our sanctuary. Everyone knew Speaker for his loud bark, strong personality and the way he wouldn’t let anyone near while eating. ❤️

From abandonment to a life filled with love, care and safety… Tommy spent his final years truly happy.

Yesterday, he passed away due to kidney ailment. We gave him a dignified farewell surrounded by flowers, prayers and people who loved him deeply.

We mourn his loss, but we are grateful he never had to face loneliness again.

Searching for food and water, this stray dog got trapped inside a plastic container for more than a day.

Our team safely rescued him and gave him food and water. Please dispose plastic responsibly — it can become a death trap for innocent animals. 🙏🐾

She was abandoned on the streets while heavily pregnant.

Thankfully, our team rescued her in time and brought her to safety. She delivered two puppies at our sanctuary, but heartbreakingly, neither survived.

Despite everything she has been through, she remains one of the sweetest, friendliest dogs we’ve met.

She is now healthy, vaccinated, active, and ready for a loving forever home.
