Meet Lisa, a beautiful 2-year-old Indie 🐕✨

Desensitising a dog to training tools is a crucial part of balanced training. Many dogs react out of fear or confusion simply because they don’t understand the tool being introduced.

Here, Lisa is being calmly and systematically introduced to a slip leash as an R- (Negative Reinforcement) tool. The focus is on clarity, timing, and fairness—not force. When done correctly, desensitisation builds confidence, trust, and understanding, allowing the dog to respond without stress or resistance.

Training is not about controlling the dog.
It’s about educating the dog to make better choices and live comfortably in our world.

Step by step, Lisa is learning. And learning done right lasts a lifetime 💪🐾

A festival weekend for us. Another NePoPo® seminar coming up this weekend . Most of the participants are Kci obedience trainers. I’m sure that they would take whatever is required and incorporate it into their regular schedule.
