Yesterday was a milestone moment in the journey of BMAD. We were honored with the prestigious “Champions of Chennai” Award by the KSA Trust under the Social Initiative category. The award was presented by Dr. Irai Anbu in an inspiring ceremony alongside 6 other remarkable awardees recognized for their transformative contributions to sports, healthcare, science, education, arts, and business.
To stand among such visionaries is deeply humbling, but it also serves as a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come. We still remember when our Out-Patient (OP) unit was literally just a single table set up outside our IP unit. To go from that to being recognized as a Champion of Chennai is a testament to what love, persistence, and community can build together.
None of this growth would have been possible without the foundation beneath our feet. We proudly dedicate this award to our parent organization, The Theosophical Society. We extend our deepest gratitude to our President, Mr. Tim Boyd, along with GM sir, VP Shikhar sir, Marja ma’am, Nancy ma’am, and Vighnesh sir. Your constant guidance, leadership, and unwavering support from the ground up have been the bedrock of our work every step of the way.
Beyond the recognition, the real strength of BMAD lies in the hands and hearts that show up every day. This honor belongs to our incredible team: our skilled vets, dedicated managers, tireless caretakers, passionate volunteers, generous donors, and the brave, selfless rescuers who never turn away from an animal in distress.
To the entire BMAD community, YOU are the true Champions of Chennai.
Thank you for making BMAD what it is today. You are the inspiration for what we stand for, the driving force behind our mission, and the reason we can continue to protect and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Here’s to many more lives saved, together. 🌸
