For visiting times/more info, please see sections below. Funded entirely by donations from visitors and local residents, the ARC rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes dogs, cats and other animals we find on the streets. Over the years the ARC has vaccinated and sterilise

🐾 Our puppy food is running low.

We currently have 20+ puppies in our care, and the wet puppy food we have will last us only about 3 more days.

Growing puppies need regular, nutritious meals, and we’d really appreciate some help keeping their bowls full. ❤️

We’re running low on some essential supplies at ARC.

Our medicines for the sicker animals are running out, and many of the beds have worn out after months of use. With the monsoons, keeping everyone warm, dry and comfortable has become even harder.

We know not everyone can take an animal home, and we don’t expect anyone to do more than they can. But if you’re able to contribute towards medicines, bedding or other essentials, even a small contribution helps us keep going.

A little gallery of our brave little fighters 🐾💗

Some are healing, some are recovering, and some are still waiting for their turn to feel better. Every tiny face here comes with a story and we’re doing our best to make sure their stories have happy endings. 🥹🐶🐱

We’re currently running low on medical supplies for our injured and recovering animals. If you can help us replenish our stock with medicines, bandages, syringes, gauze, antiseptics or other essential supplies, it would mean the world to these little ones. 🩹💕

Sometimes, the world can be terribly cruel to the animals who have nowhere else to go. 💔

At ARC, we often receive cats and dogs who have been victims of boiling oil or hot water being thrown on them, simply because someone wanted to keep them away from a neighbourhood.

And then there are the tiniest ones. Puppies and kittens whose eyes haven’t even opened yet, still burping after their last little tummy full of milk. 🍼🐾 They need their mothers to survive. They need warmth, feeding, care and someone to keep them safe.

And somewhere out there, there may be a mother with full, painful milk ducts, anxiously searching for the babies who have been taken away from her. It is a heartbreaking sight.

We understand that stray animal populations can be challenging. But cruelty is never the answer.

The humane and effective way to control stray populations is through Animal Birth Control (ABC) protocols: sterilisation, vaccination and responsible community care. 🐕🐈

Meanwhile, the babies and injured souls keep arriving at our doors.

🐾 URGENT APPEAL – 6 TINY PUPPIES NEED OUR HELP 🐾

Yesterday, six tiny puppies were dumped outside ARC – without their mum. 💔

They are now safe with us, and our team is hand-feeding them around the clock, keeping them warm and doing everything possible to give them the best chance of survival. But caring for puppies this young without their mother is incredibly difficult.

Please, if you are ever in a situation where you feel you have no option but to surrender a litter of puppies, bring their mum too. Taking newborn puppies away from their mother is one of the worst things that can happen to them. They desperately need her milk, warmth and care, and being separated from her can seriously reduce their chances of survival.

We will do everything we possibly can for these six little ones, but we desperately need your help. ❤️

They will require specialist puppy milk, bottles, bedding, warmth and intensive care over the coming weeks — and the costs quickly add up.

🌧️🐾 The rains have arrived in Goa... and things have gone very quiet at Animal Rescue Centre - ARC, South Goa. 🐾🌧️

Monsoon is a beautiful time of year, but it also means far fewer visitors make it to the rescue centre.

One person who never lets the weather stop him is Herculeo Babbis, who continues to come and walk our dogs, giving them the exercise, love, and attention they need. We're so grateful for his dedication. ❤️

Unfortunately, when visitors stop coming, our donations also drop significantly. Yet the animals still need feeding, medical care, shelter, and lots of love every single day.
