Art of living Foundation under Agricultural Trust ( SSIAST ) has undertaken a comprehensive program of Sri Sri Natural Farming to Farmers in training, hand-holding, certification and marketing in select clusters of Orvakal & Midthur Mandals of drought prone Kurnool District of A.P. The program sponsored by govt of AP under RKVY.
Since April, 2016 imparted training to 900 Farmers and converted 800 Acres in Khariff season to Natural Farming in 10 Villages. Farmers have successfully taken a 60 days intercrop of Black Gram in Red Gram valuing Rs.25 to 30 thousand per Acre with marginal investment of rupees 1,000/- per acre for bio fertilizer and pesticides.The crop withstood a 42 days dry spell of no rain/ irrigation without withering (green & healthy).
