RePost • Stella is a 'pandemic' puppy who unfortunately could not get appropriate socialization due to the lockdown, and as expected she is quite fearful of any kind of loud sounds and strangers around her.
With fearful dogs, its imperative to go step by step in making them habituated to things they ar scared of.. The major mistake most pet owners do is to try to push their dogs to socialize more and more with other dogs and people with the context of getting them used to the fear.. But remember you are only making it worse..!!
Here, we are gradually trying to build up her confidence through mental stimulation using so that she learns to pay more attention to her parent and is excited about the game rather than the sounds around and a stranger ( that's me). This was our first meeting and she did pretty well.. Kudos to her pawrent too!! Bit by bit, we shall get her used to more people.. But one step at a time!
