Remembering Our Dear Opie 🐾❤️
It is with very heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Opie, a very special boy who spent the last eight years coming to the Doggie Lodge.
Opie was, of course, first and foremost Brian and Stacey’s beloved boy, but after so many years of seeing him come through our doors, he became a very familiar and much-loved part of our days. We were so lucky to have known him, cared for him, and watched his little personality shine over the years.
And what a personality he had!
You could always hear Opie before you could see him. His bark would announce his arrival and make sure everyone knew he was there! And then there was his wonderfully bizarre habit of pooing on the walls!! Something that became one of those classic Opie stories that we could never quite believe, but will certainly never forget! There’s a photo in the comments for anyone who what’s to see the proof 💩😂
We know just how deeply he was loved by Brian and Stacey, and how special he was to our Priscilla who were like an old married couple together. And more recently, he became a big brother to Zoro, who absolutely adored him. It was beautiful to see the love Zoro had for his brother, and we know he will feel his absence too.
Over eight years, Opie became part of the rhythm of the Doggie Lodge. We looked forward to seeing him, and his absence will leave a noticeable little gap.
We feel incredibly lucky to have been a small part of Opie’s life. Rest peacefully, sweet boy. You were very loved, and you will be very missed.
