*URGENT* Reposting as unfortunately his new home didn’t work out. Kevin needs somebody who will be at home all day and preferably someone with dachshund or similar breed experience. Pm us with your details and the type of home you can offer and I will forward to the owner for consideration. The Doggie Lodge is not involved in rehoming Kevin just trying to help. He is located in south Dublin.

We’re helping rehome Kevin he’s a miniature dachshund, 5 years old and neutered. We will pass information directly to current owners for their consideration as he is not in our care.

Meet Kevin 🐾❤️

Kevin is a very loving and affectionate little dog with a lovely temperament. He absolutely loves cuddles, attention and spending time with his people, and he is a wonderful companion and family pet.

He is good with children and generally quite good with other dogs. We feel he would be very happy as the only dog in the home, where he could get lots of love and attention, but also would be happy with the company of another dog, preferably a smaller, calm dog.

Kevin loves his chew toys and is happiest when he’s getting cuddles or relaxing with his family. He has been a much-loved pet and this is a very difficult decision, but we are looking for a loving and suitable home where he will be happy, cared for and very much part of the family.

We would be looking for a responsible and loving home for Kevin and, most importantly, the right fit for him. ❤️

Remembering Our Dear Opie 🐾❤️

It is with very heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Opie, a very special boy who spent the last eight years coming to the Doggie Lodge.

Opie was, of course, first and foremost Brian and Stacey’s beloved boy, but after so many years of seeing him come through our doors, he became a very familiar and much-loved part of our days. We were so lucky to have known him, cared for him, and watched his little personality shine over the years.

And what a personality he had!

You could always hear Opie before you could see him. His bark would announce his arrival and make sure everyone knew he was there! And then there was his wonderfully bizarre habit of pooing on the walls!! Something that became one of those classic Opie stories that we could never quite believe, but will certainly never forget! There’s a photo in the comments for anyone who what’s to see the proof 💩😂

We know just how deeply he was loved by Brian and Stacey, and how special he was to our Priscilla who were like an old married couple together. And more recently, he became a big brother to Zoro, who absolutely adored him. It was beautiful to see the love Zoro had for his brother, and we know he will feel his absence too.

Over eight years, Opie became part of the rhythm of the Doggie Lodge. We looked forward to seeing him, and his absence will leave a noticeable little gap.

We feel incredibly lucky to have been a small part of Opie’s life. Rest peacefully, sweet boy. You were very loved, and you will be very missed.
