❤️❤️❤️It’s International Veterinary Nurse Day! ❤️❤️❤️

We are so lucky to have 4 incredible veterinary nurses working for us. They are the unseen hero’s of every veterinary practice. They work tirelessly behind the scenes, always putting the needs of there patients behind their own. Caring for patients who can’t tell them where it hurts and comforting owners in their hardest moments. They celebrate the little victories , carry the weight of the losses and give their hearts to every animal that comes through the door. Their work is physically demanding, emotionally exhausting and often goes unnoticed but their compassion, dedication and love make an immeasurable difference every single day ❤️❤️ Laurie, Ruth, Joanne and Barbara, City Vets Vet Nurses ❤️❤️

Scooby was in yesterday for his librela! He’s was the best boy and kept wanting to give me his paw 🥰🥰 Scooby is nearly 11 1/2 years old and the librela has given his mobility a huge boost!!! Often older dogs slow down very gradually and it can be put down to old age, arthritis can show up in dogs through:
🐶 lameness
🐶 slowing down in walks or reluctance to continue walks
🐶 laying down more
🐶 slow to get up from laying down
🐶 licking at a joint
🐶 difficulty going up or down stairs
🐶 changes in posture

Cats also get arthritis!! They are very adept at hiding it! Signs include:
🐱 hiding
🐱 reluctance to jump up
🐱 stiffness when moving
🐱 reduction in grooming
🐱 sleeping more and playing less
🐱 litter tray difficulties
🐱behaviour changes

This is Sonny ❤️ Sonny was the bravest boy today donating his blood to save a life 🥰 we are so grateful that Sonny’s owners could drop him in with very little notice so he could do such an amazing thing!! ❤️

We will in the next few weeks be updating our Blood Donor Canine list! If you would consider putting your dog forward to being a donor there are some criteria that we look for:

🐶 Good temperament
🐶 between 2-7 years old
🐶 over 25kg in weight
🐶 up to date with vaccinations
🐶 up to date with flea/worm treatments
🐶 not raw fed
🐶 not on prescription medications

The benefits to you as an owner of a donating dog:
🐶 the amazing feeling of your pet saving a life!!!
🐶 blood tests are done if you choose your pet to become a donor and repeated each time before donating, also including a full vet exam at no cost to you.

We want to thank Sonny for being on our donating list for the last 3 years, as he is now 7 this was his final time donating. Thank you Sonny, you saved MULTIPLE lives ❤️❤️
