After a wet walk or a game of fetch, a quick blow dry and brush through can make all the difference. It helps prevent knots, keeps the coat fluffy, and makes future grooming so much easier.

Important update for full groom clients 🐶

Groovy Dogs is moving to a schedule-based grooming system.

This means full groom clients will be booked on a regular grooming cycle that suits their dog’s coat type, coat condition, behaviour and grooming needs.

This helps keep coats healthier, prevents long gaps between appointments, reduces matting, and makes grooming calmer and more comfortable for the dog.

To stay on the Groovy Dogs schedule, full groom clients will need to keep their next two appointments booked in advance.

After each groom, I’ll recommend the best schedule for your dog, whether that is 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 weeks depending on their needs.

Dogs who are not kept on a suitable grooming schedule may not be suitable for future full groom appointments.

Thank you for understanding and for helping me keep grooming safe, calm and comfortable for every dog.

A little reminder after today’s dog show at the park festival in Tralee 🐾

There were so many gorgeous dogs around, but it was also a good reminder of something really important.

Please don’t rush up to a dog you don’t know and reach your hand out without asking the owner first.

I know most people mean well. They see a cute dog and naturally want to say hello. But from the dog’s point of view, a stranger suddenly coming into their space with hands reaching toward them can feel overwhelming or scary.

Not every dog is comfortable with strangers.

Some dogs are nervous.
Some dogs are reactive.
Some dogs are in training.
Some dogs may have had bad past experiences.

And in busy places with crowds, noise, children and lots of other dogs, even a normally friendly dog can become stressed.

The safest way to greet a dog is simple:

Ask the owner first.
Wait for a clear yes.
Let the dog come to you.
Avoid reaching over their head.
If the owner says no, please respect it.

It’s not about being unfriendly. It’s about keeping dogs, people and everyone around them safe 💚
