Heat stroke in dogs occurs when they are unable to regulate their body temperature due to excessive heat exposure, especially during walks in hot weather.

Dogs primarily cool themselves through panting, but in extreme heat, this mechanism can become insufficient due to the temperature of the air

they may experience serious symptoms such as excessive panting, drooling, weakness, and loss of coordination.

the Factors such as humidity, breed, age, coat type and pre-existing health conditions can increase the risk of heat stroke, making it crucial for pet owners to monitor their dogs closely and provide adequate hydration and shade during hot conditions.

*Wet air stops water from drying. Heat stays inside.

* Hot air: Breathing in hot air does not cool the blood.

* Closed airways: Short noses (like pugs) frenchies block air flow.

* Stress and running

I’m by no means perfect this happened my dog a few years ago walking on a warm day in a shaded forest . I learnt from my mistakes . No harm to admit you’re wrong and learn from it sadly not a trait that’s common these days on social media anyway

It’s vitally important to cool your dog down asap with cool water , cool air fans etc and to call or bring to your vet immediately for professional advice

I’m a member of many professional dog walking and dog training and behaviour groups and walking and group classes are cancelled all the time due to our professional knowledge around the dangers

Within these groups we hear of many cases of collapse In Ireland

Just because you own dogs all your life it doesn’t back up your viewpoint i“ it’s not being a Karen or a Pauline “ to stress the dangers

By the way dog walks are man made so we feel we will get “ calm relaxed dog afterwards so we can get on with our day uninterrupted“ . By choice no dog would take itself off to walk around in excessive heat -they are far too intelligent

"MAN ATTACKS SHARK"

A man was hospitalised after needlessly attacking a shark in its own habitat.... there RTÉ News we fixed your headline for you 🙄💭📰

**The man in question allegedly claimed to be "tagging" shark - as if that justified his actions- but check the comments section for why a group of friends, on what the RNLI referred to as a "pleasure craft", with no evidence of permission or permits, were likely not "tagging" shark for any real, scientific or environmental reason. More updates in the comments section like why were ZERO of the best tagging practises followed?!**

**Great to see all the identical looking men, in identical wraparound sunglasses, holding identical fish in their identical profile picturs have arrived in the comments section! Constantly defending, cursing at us, unable to converse for 2 sentences without throwing insults... proving why this is such a pointless "hobby" carried out by men who can't think for themselves 🙄**

Allegedly, a blue shark was busy minding its own business off the Waterford coast, where it lives, when a man, who doesn't live in the sea, for zero discernable reason whatsoever, decided to put bait out and catch it on a tiny hook, then haul it up onto a boat to take photos, presumably for later use on his Tinder profile.

Blue shark are listed globally by the IUCN as Near Threatened. The most common kind of bycatch, the blue shark suffers most from human predation. Catch and release, a kind of mindless cognitive dissonance game that humans play to convince themselves they're doing nothing wrong when they actually understand exactly what theyre doing and why its wrong, is bad for all fish... there is no doubt.

⚠️ Stress and exhaustion from fighting on a fishing line, hook injuries which affect future feeding or cause deep injury, handling damage as these poor creatures are held by gills or manhandled by the tail, and time spent out of water are all reasons why catch and release is painful and damaging to the fish. Don't kid yourself. Its just not right ⚠️

🦈 If you care about fish, don't catch them. Simple.

🐋 If you care about the sea, leave it alone. Simple.

🐬 If you care about shark, don't board a boat to harrass them. Simple!

A shark fighting for his life bit a man who was harassing it after dragging it out of the sea. The shark is probably injured or dead by now, the man is safe in hospital, telling what he thinks is a funny story.

It's not a funny story.

It's another case of greedy humans acting like they own the Earth and all of its living creatures.

It's more proof that humans don't actually care about the damage they are doing to delicate habitats and endangered species. The human-centric reporting on the event is shameful and embarrassing from RTE and elsewhere.

When humans allegedly continue to act like this, is there really any surprise when nature fights back?!
