A lovely start to our holidays!! Yesterday, we ran at The Wexford Retriever Club's Open Stake Retriever Trial at the outstanding Coollattin Estate in Co Wicklow. Thank you to the Dowling Family for supporting our sport so much throughout the years and also a massive thank you to Mr Tommy Murphy, who is running top class trials for many many years and still is to this day, Tommy's input to our sport is and has been outstanding to the Retriever World in Ireland. Thank you to all the helpers/markers yesterday and to the judges for their time. Well done to Ian Davis with FTCH Cialfo Zatopek coming second and to Michael Hoey for his third placement with Fields of Grace.

So this morning was like waking up from a fairy tale dream! Going to sleep in a castle, waking up at 5am and driving to Wicklow, running in a field trial, winning the trial, going back to the castle, having dinner and a few Guinness of course and celebrating Pete's win with my beautiful wife who is a big part of what we do with our Corrib Team.........Thursday and Friday were two busy days for our dogs including Pete who did four Retriever Training Displays at Dromoland Castle Estate and then Friday evening travelling to our current Castle Accommodation...............

It's not a dream. We are living the dream, and we are so grateful to be.

Jana and I are staying in The Beautiful Kinnitty Castle and being treated like a king and queen!!

We are so proud of our Corrib Gundogs and now have our 10th Open Field Trial Winner since 2010 when we started to compete in Retriever Trials, FTW Corrib Pete did us very proud yesterday like he and the rest of our team do every day when we are either, training them, doing displays with them ,or working them in the field or competing with them. I am so grateful to have what we have.

Fingers crossed Pete can follow in his amazing parents paw prints and some day earn his FTCH Title.......Pete's mother is our FTCH Corrib Fern (Top Irish Female in 2021) and his sire is Gary Wood's FTCH Millbuies Ghillie (Top British Dog in 2021)

We have room for one, maybe two Retrievers on our upcoming game day near Dublin, Ireland this Sunday the 11th October due to a participant being forced to pull out. The ground is spectacular and the environment will be of a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Let me know via messenger ASAP if wanting more information.

Our Corrib Pete running a retrieve from Sunday also, he had some really nice educational retrieves throughout the day with gaining more of that all important game finding ability which can only be thought on days picking up and game days. Everyday in the field is a learning curve for both dog and handler.👌🏻🐾🐾❤️🇮🇪
